Juventus could beat off competition from Manchester United to sign free agent Nigel De Jong this summer.

The Dutchman’s contract will end in June 2015 and it’s looking ever more unlikely that he’ll renew his existing deal at AC Milan, leaving him a free agent in 4 months time.

The midfielder was heavily linked to a move to Manchester United where he’d rejoin Dutch boss Louis van Gaal but Calcionews24.com are suggesting that Juventus are preparing a deal of their own.

De Jong joined Milan in 2012 where he spent 2 seasons working with current Juventus coach Max Allegri.
