Matthijs De Ligt believes he isn’t at his best right now but is improving overall since joining Juventus this summer.

The 20-year-old has endured a mixed start to his Bianconeri career while also making a few errors for the Dutch national side, and despite the rocky start, he believes he will improve in time.

“I still don’t think I’m at my best, but I know it too,” the defender told Fox Sports.

“The more I play, the better I’ll be. All I can do is keep working hard, do my best and learn as much as possible from my teammates.

“In the end, everything will be all right again. While the form is a separate concept, at Ajax I felt a sense of invincibility. Now I feel it less, but it’s natural.

“I arrived at a new club with a new way of playing and new players. These are all factors that play an important role.

“I’m young, so it’s all new to me. I played at Ajax for ten years and I knew everyone there. It was all familiar. Now less so, but I’m getting better and better.”
