Merih Demiral’s ex-teammate Georgios Tzavellas believes the youngster has to stay at Juventus as he could be a Bianconeri centre-back for the next 10 years.

Tzavellas played alongside Demiral at Alanyaspor and knew from the start that the Turkish international was destined for better things.

“As soon as I saw him I realized that Merih wouldn’t stay with us for long,” he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“He is strong physically, he is fast, he’s 20 but he doesn’t behave like like one, he’s more like an adult.

“He speaks little, is not afraid of anyone and he only cares about winning and fighting over every single ball.”

Demiral has been strongly linked with a move to Milan while Manchester United and Atletico Madrid reportedly made enquiries about the youngster.

“I think he’ll have space in Juve. I don’t like the idea of a loan for him and I wouldn’t even go to Milan.

“He must remain. I do not say this out of friendship, but for me, he is of the same level as (Kostas) Manolas: he can be the Juventus centre-back for the next 10 years.”
