Italian journalist, Giovanni Capuano, has reviewed and compared both Andrea Pirlo and Max Allegri’s seasons as Juventus’ managers and it seems clear Juve is not keeping the latter because he achieved more.
The Bianconeri sacked Pirlo after he managed the club for one season even though his team won two trophies and ended the campaign inside the top four.
They brought back the tried and tested Allegri, but his first season ended with no trophy and just a top-four finish.
The manager, however, still has a job and he will lead the club in the next campaign.
Capuano doesn’t understand why and he tweeted: “The Juventus of Allegri finished with 8 points less than that of Pirlo (70 against 78), losing 2 more games (8), scoring 20 fewer goals (57-77) and conceding 38 against 38 a year ago.
“There is no statistical reason to pass the season.”
Juve FC Says
This has been a bad season and even Juve will admit Allegri’s return has been far poorer than we all expected.
The Bianconeri cannot keep changing managers and it makes more sense to settle with Allegri for some time.
If the team performs poorly in the next campaign, then we can replace him, perhaps with Pirlo.
I don’t think good idea to keep Allegri . Next season more competition and he will not change anything the results. Its the time to bring Zidane.
Bring Zizou would be insane!!!
But, sadly, I think it’s not happening…
Pirlo won cups, it was a stronger serie a and got 8 more points and a better end of season. Should have tried him for another season,my regrets are very large for the future. A positive coach would have been a rebuild this is stabilising a sinking ship with a lead life jacket
Exactly!
and Pirlo did this, while had to deal with the pandemic, when everything was crazy sh@%#
He deserved more appreciation.
Keep Allegry so we can get Zero shots on target and 33% possesion good luck , i guess the management doesnt care if they lose fans from around the world , no one is willing to watch a boring football.
Finally a journalist who brought up a good and obvious topic. The stats and numbers don’t lie. Pirlo should’ve had more time. Agnelli panicked and brought outdated Allegri back. Kulusevski and Bentacur performing better in a more competitive league against better teams. Marotta, Pirlo and Paratici were scapegoats. This only points to Agnelli. Nedved should resigned as well for not putting more action to sorting out this poor midfield and preventing from bringing Allegri back. But they give a green light to sign a upcoming striker without the midfield to supply the ball. I expect management resignations after next season concludes to get this team back on track.
Pirlo had Ronaldo… That made a difference.
Yes, declining and aged Ronaldo still works some quality gaps more than an uprising Vlahovic surely…this is for real
