Italian journalist, Massimo Pavan says this transfer window has been a disastrous one for Juventus and they ended it with a weakened team instead of a stronger one.
After squeezing into the Italian top four last season, Juve fans expected their club to strengthen their squad in this transfer window.
They sacked Andrea Pirlo and replaced him with Massimiliano Allegri who was highly successful in his first stint as their manager.
He is one of the best coaches in the world right now, however, he will need top players at his disposal to achieve his aims.
Pavan doesn’t think he has that and slams Juventus for how they went about their transfer business.
He claims they used almost two months to sign Manuel Locatelli and agreed to sell Cristiano Ronaldo late in the transfer window and never replaced him.
He said as quoted by Tuttojuve: “Unfortunately I’m sorry to say, but this transfer market was a disaster. Almost two months to take Locatelli, Ronaldo not replaced at the height, a left winger has not arrived who has been missing for two years and perhaps there is always a director missing.
“In short, we understand that there was no money, but rather than a strengthening campaign, it seems to be weakening. Then, everything can fit, but it will take a great positive evolution of those who are already there to win.”
Juve will hope the likes of Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata can step up to score the goals they need to conquer the new season.
absolute nonsense.
A big disaster indeed.
Juve has definitely weakened in the CB position (Rugani stays, Demiral went), weakened in goals (Buffon gone and Tek in the worse form of his life), midfield slightly strengthened by Locatelli’s arrival, but lost two players on loan who should have been given more playing time (Ranocchia and Fagioli) in place of the rubbish we have in midfield. As for the forward line, Kean and Jorge have been brought in and you would think that they both have the talent to score at least 8-10 goals each. Dybala will take more free kicks and will also be given more playing time so there is upside there. Morata needs to be given consistent playing time because he showed early last year that if he’s confidence is up he can score 20+ goals a year. Chiesa and Kulu will also score goals this year, so I don’t think we are going to struggle as much as people make out with Ronnie’s departure. Let’s also remember that Ronaldo held back most of the other forwards through his selfish play, so hopefully, these players are now free to express themselves more.
Juve scoring goals doesn’t come down to Juve’s forwards – it comes down to the midfield improving it’s service to them and on Allegri’s selections. If Allegri keeps making terrible selection decisions like he has in the first two games, you can have Mbappe and Haaland up there and we would still struggle to score.
It all comes down to what Allegri can do to get the best out of this team, because the best from this team is good enough to win the scudetto and have a deep run in the UCL. Ronaldo is gone – let’s all move on.
they lost much money to hire Ronaldo and financial crisis during Covid19 outbreak. so, that’s why…
Juve has its own way to win in every match
