Reports in Italy suggest Juventus could be on the verge of completing a deal for Porto defender Alex Sandro.
Having missed out on Guilherme Siqueira, it seems the Bianconeri are turning their attention elsewhere in their search for a left-back.
Sandro has been linked with a move to Turin throughout the summer and Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Juventus are close to completing a deal for the Brazilian defender
Having failed to agree a contract extension at Porto, Sandro could be heading to Juve in a transfer deal worth €20 million for the Portuguese side, while the full-back would agree a 5-year-deal with the Bianconeri.

It would be a bold move, if Juve complete it for €20 million. Given Porto just sold their right-back, Danilo to RM for €31.5 million, this would be a good deal for Juve. I just found how similar Alex Sandro and Danillo’s stories are:
1) They both played for Santos; were brought to Porto together; both Brazilian, 24 years olds now
2) They played almost exactly the same number of games and minutes at Porto; Alex Sandro as a left-back, Danilo as a right-back
3) Their WhoScored ratings (which I really value despite others’ skepticism) are almost the same
4) Danilo joined RM for €31.5 million; Alex Sandro is about to join Juve (knock on wood)
Given how hard it is to get a good left-back compared to a right-back, I would have thought Porto would demand more money for Alex Sandro than they did for Danilo. If we can get the kind of productivity from Alex Sandro that we got from Lichsteiner over many years, it would totally justify the cost. Remember we bought Lich for €11 million when he was 27. Danilo is only 24 and the market is much more inflated now.

It’s because Alex Sandro is in the last year of his contract and has refused to sign an extension.
