Juventus are close to reaching an agreement for Sassuolo centre-back Merih Demiral.

The 21-year-old Turkish international joined the Neroverdi on loan in January and went on to have an impressive season, making 11 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

Goal Italia’s Romeo Agresti reports that Juventus and Sassuolo have had positive contacts recently for the young defender and a move is close to being completed.

The Bianconeri are expected to pay €15m to sign Demiral, offering him a 5-year contract in Turin, but it remains to be seen if he’d join the club immediately or stay on loan with Sassuolo.

It’s reported that Juventus moved quickly to sign Demiral as had they not, other clubs would have moved in their place to snap him up.
