Juventus made some good money in the summer on the sale of Cristian Romero. He had been on loan with an obligation to buy at Atalanta, and they made the transfer permanent to sell him to Tottenham.
That earned the Bianconeri some money, and La Dea struck a similar agreement over the signature of Merih Demiral.
The Turkish defender had struggled to play regularly in Turin and pushed to leave the club on several occasions.
He finally got his wish, and he has been in great form at Bergamo, which could earn him a move to a bigger club.
Il Bianconero claims Atalanta is prepared to cash in on the defender in the summer, and they will redeem his signature from Juve to sell him.
He joined them on loan for 3m euros, and they can make the transfer permanent for 20m euros.
With that in mind, they hope to sell him for 35m euros when the transfer window reopens and will pay Juventus for his signature.
Juve FC Says
Atalanta is one of the finest business partners Juventus has, and the Bianconeri will keep sending players there if it makes them good money.
We all know that Demiral is a very talented defender, and he was only struggling at Juve because we have other players who are better than he is.
He is showing his class at Atalanta, and we deserve to make money from his sale after taking a chance on him earlier in his career.
Rubbish. Demiral is world class and we should have kept him.
Exactly. Not everyone on a team needs to be a superstar. They need to be team players. We are going to lose another young defender because we have no patience with younger players. Great! Good coaching! Let a 24 yr old bull leave, and keep a 34 and 37 year old because they’re experienced.
Just another bad move, by a horrible management team!
Denural is overrated. His mistakes cost Juve in UCL last year and will never reach the level of injury prone Chiellini and Bonucchi. Even old men are better than useless Demiral.
Anyone who plays at that level is not overrated. You’re telling me that Bonucci doesn’t make mistakes? That Chellini at 24 was a great defender? What about DeLigt? Everyone grows as a player, no matter what their age. If you blame 1 player for a loss, and let 10 others off, then we should never have a team game. Let him play tennis. How many times has Bonucci lost his man and caused a goal to be scored? How many times has Chellini not been able to keep up with a faster “younger” player? How many times has Rugani been who knows where and causes an open man? De sciglio should never see a blade of grass on a field unless there is no one left to play defense. Coaches mold players into greatness. We have a coach who can’t be bothered with “coaching up”.
I don’t understand how this is good business. We have sent two players to Atalanta for less than they are actually worth, they redeem the players and sell them on for a profit way over what they paid Juve. From the figures I saw we actually let Romero go for less than Juve paid for him. This is just poor business. Twice
