Juventus defensive target refuses to leave his current club

August 25, 2021 - 6:45 pm

Juventus wants to sign Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, but Calciomercato says the Frenchman looks set to stay at the Spanish club as he has rejected the idea of leaving.

The World Cup winner has suffered a number of injuries that have forced him out of the plans of Ronald Koeman.

The Dutch manager has told him he has to leave because he is not in his plans and Barcelona also needs to cut his wages from their accounts.

The Catalans will allow him to join another club for free, but Calciomercato states in the same report he has told them he is staying.

The former Lyon man has interest from AS Roma also, with Jose Mourinho looking to rebuild the Rome club so he can challenge for the Scudetto in this campaign.

Juventus has sold Merih Demiral and a few clubs are interested in Daniele Rugani and Radu Dragusin.

If both centre backs leave, Juve will need backup options and Umtiti is perfect for that role.

If they cannot land him or another defender, they might block a move away for Rugani and Dragusin so that it does not leave them exposed in case of injury or suspension.

It will be interesting to see if Umtiti changes his mind before the transfer window finally closes.

I don’t know why we kept doing this thing to our self. buying an injury maniac player with expensive salary and hope they will put us to the top.
Juventus look like a trauma team who prefer old, expensive, slow, useless players who can’t contribute but a burden and hoping they will performing better then a younger or young promising players.
i will buying bastoni and barella with ronaldo to PSG money.
I’m tired watching those foreign mercenaries on juve bench

If ronaldo went to psg or bayern munich instead of juventus in 2018 he would had 2 champions league with all national titles

Juventus basicaly bought ronaldo when they werent willing to change their pass it to the back/play it safe tactic to a the rock n roll lets all attack tactic like he was used to in madrid portugal and manchester

Furthermore, juventus acted very toxic acting as if ronaldo is bought he will bring us champions league whatever the state of team. They didnt have the money to keep improving the team. And hired bad coaches and bad players

Ronaldo did his part and quite well. Its juve administation to blama. The error of his career was to trust and join juv

Our goal difference plummeted when Ronald joined and he was waay past his United and real prime even then. The error of our history was paying so much for a player not at his peak, and sacrificing the attack to make him look better that cost us number 10 in a row is a valid discussion; because better goal difference = more wins. He did alright financially and broke records that’s all he wanted, as for Juventus? Well if your greedy enough to want such high wages our hands are tied to improve, even sarri was brought in to keep him happy. Ronno fans will blame whatever club he’s at for everything because as soon as he touched down in Turin we were told the midfield wasn’t up to his standard and the whole team was rubbish almost daily. He conquered another league (through our sacrifice) which adds to his best of his generation argument. If we’d got him two seasons before it would have worked. When he goes the followers go with him.
