Juventus are monitoring a host of players including Steven N’Zonzi, Corentin Tolisso and Fabinho.
With Coach Max Allegri’s renewal at the club confirmed, attention has turned to this summers transfer market with Juve eyeing a number of targets, primarily in attack and midfield.
Sky Sport Italia transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa is a priority for the attack however the Bianconceri may face opposition from Zenit and PSG for the 26-year-old Brazilian.
Angel Di Maria is also considering a target, however negotiations with PSG may be tricky and there are reports that the player is keen to remain in France for now. Federico Bernardeschi is also being tracked, however a similar problem exists where Fiorentina may prove reluctant to deal directly with Juve. Lazio’s Balde Keita is an outside option as well.
In midfield, Juve are looking to Lyon’s Tolisso, Monaco’s Fabinho while Liverpool’s Emre Can and Sevilla’s N’Zonzi remain viable options as well.
Gazzetta dello Sport lead with a similar story, reporting that a deal is in place for Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny, who would essentially spend a season as a backup to Gigi Before taking over the goalkeeping role. It’s believed Szczesny will earn €4.5m however negotiations continue with Arsenal over a transfer fee,
Gazzetta also suggest that Leonardo Bonucci could be sold, if Juve were to receive a “stupid” offer – Chelsea and Mancester City are both linked with the player. Stefan de Vrij could become a target for the Bianconeri if Bonucci is sold while Daniele Rugani would certainly become a starter in defence.
Finally, Juventus are expected to activate Patrik Schick’s release clause by paying €25m. The talented Czech striker is expected to remain on loan at Sampdoria for another season.
High expectations. Hopefully Schick, Costa, Matic for Bonucci.
for Bonucci? Are you mentally ill? Why in the blue hell would you sell Bonucci?
No not all. Just think about Rugani. Its his time.
Doesn’t mean you slap him in Bonucci’s spot. I’d rather have Chiello go for 15 mil than Bonucci for 55.
Just a rumour that Bonucci wants to leave
Hey Mate, my concern is Sandro. Hope he stays. I really dont have a problem with Matic. If Bonu wants to go, ok let him. But please not Sandro. Hes one of a kind.
Me too man, Sandro would be tough to replace
Really tough
I at first was considering that too if it would be good to sell bonucci for matic + 55mil but now i that i thought about it i hope juve won’t consider it. Bonucci is a great defender and let’s hope he stays!
Honestly you cant win CL with Marchi and Khedira. Tolisso wont come.
If Bonucci wants to stay, he should. If he wants to go though, Juve will let him. Getting 55 mill and a beast of a DM for him would be quite good, if not awesome.
I think we need a Pjanic sub and a DM, a real one.
Lemina will be gone and possibly one or more of Sturaro, Rincon and Asamoah. Khedira likely doing his last season too. Reinforcing the midfield will be important.
Tolisso would be perfect
Our problem is lack of quality replacements for our starters. Four great players for two spots are not much at all.
I bet that Schick and Pjaca could be great subs.
Keane is going to Zwolle right?
I would say we do not have natural left winger, yet we play with a left winger, and Alves likely cannot play every game, with Juan much lower quality. Also need the DM. Those three roles need strengthening.
Mario does a decent job on the flank, but he is not a LM or LW.
We have no DM. 4 who play there, with perhaps only Rincon anywhere close to a natural DM, and he is 4th in the pecking order.
Khedira and Pjanic are not at all naturally defensive and yet they present our best duet for two deep central midfielder positions, regardless of one going forward often. It does not work against decent opposition, as one of them needs to screen the defence, be able to put their foot on the ball, affect the tempo, hustle, smash, tackle.
Marchisio is better in that position than either of them. Yet again, he is no natural DM. We do not have one.
Lemina will be gone. Maybe Rincon also? Sturaro? Their combined contribution for the season is woeful to average. Which isn’t good enough for the levels we aspire to reach and maintain. Only Sturaro is perhaps a bit harshly judged there, as he has rarely played anywhere near his natural role. Still, despite my long standing support for Sturaro, he had a poor season.
We need a LW to play LW, not a CF and box to box midfielder.
We also need a DM to play DM, not a box to box or trequartista.
Spot on! Plus a RW who does not have two left legs and knows what to do with the ball. What people do not get, is that if you have two good DMs doing the dirty work in the midfield, you neither need defensive attackers nor your final third players need to contribute that much at the defence, which leave them more energy and focus to create and score. Take chelsea for example, none of the Hazard – Costa- Pedro would fight as hard as Mandzukic to get possesion back, but they also do not need to, that is why they pay Kande and Matic, and that is why , even thought one of the best at his position, Fabregas does not get regular football ahead of them.
