Juventus are Inter Milan are reportedly in the running to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Silly season is finally here and the most ridiculous rumour of the day comes from Corriere dello Sport who believe Juve and Inter could fight it out to sign Spanish midfielder Fabregas.
Ignoring the fact that he’s cup-tied, the 28-year old attacking midfielder is under contract until 2019 but that hasn’t stopped CdS from suggesting that Fabregas is looking for a move away from London.
The report goes on to link Bayern Munich and Manchester City with a move for the player before adding the caveat that Fabregas currently €8m and a deal for an Italian side would be difficult.
Nonetheless, they round things off superbly by suggesting that a summer move is more likely and Inter and Juve will duke it out for the Spaniards signature.
Silly season. There’s nothing quite like it.

No thanks. I dont think he would fit in here.
I loathe even sharing garbage like this but it’s silly season and we’re allowed to have on ridiculous transfer story a week – This one ranks high on daftometer – Inter is the kind of club i can see him joining and i think he may even be successful in italy…..but 25m ? and an 8m salary for a player that has been so poor this season? No chance. He’s talented, but way too expensive and a gamble for a club that need a quality midfielder next summer. Who knows, maybe pereyra will finally come good in the coming months. The papers keep comparing him to a new signing in itself….
I would never pay 8m a season for him, but if he’d fall in line with our metrics and cost us around 35m, or less, Id love to have him. He’s lost this season at Chelsea, but world class nonetheless.
35 million of what, pesos?
I wouldn’t put any value on the Chelsea transfer news regarding anyone of obvious talent, despite the season many of their stars have had to date. I doubt there will be a fire sale. And they all earn too much for us to be interested, given our wage structure.
Pereyra is one I have huge hopes for, and have been banging on for a while regarding how as you put it, Chief, he will be like a new signing. He was brilliant in the second half of last season. Has wonderful ability to play in between the lines and connect the midfield and attack. Get Asamoah fit and sharp and we will be much stronger. Also Lemina seems close to been given the go ahead to rejoin the squad.
suspect it might be an idea to do a good round up of all the midfielders we’re linked with and how liekly it is that we get any of them. We’re linked with so many at present, even though Marotta has distanced us from half of them
Which players are linked away from Juve in the Winter? Summer? I can finally see our dear leader Padoin making his triumphant exit, and it not just being our hopeful wishes. Also, Asamoah looks set to move on, he deserves playing time, but not with us. Marchisio, Pogba, Khedira, Lemina, Pereyra are all better, Sturaro seems promising and cheaper salary and would fetch less on the market. Caceres has had some talk of leaving, and though I love the guy, he is another who deserves playing time rather than the bench.
Caceres is the only obvious one from the first team squad. His behaviour off the field, contract expiring next Summer, perennial injury bothers and the fact that he remains saleable at a half decent fee all lead me to conclude he will be off in January.
Main talk of any serious nature has been of Rugani, yet the club are adamant that he remains, or at worst, he heads out solely on loan. Also, with the back three system, he is our only reliable back-up. So cannot see any movement there.
Other talk has focused on our interest in…Banega, Moutinho and Gundogan, yet other the portuguese seems viable, at least in the Winter window. Solid player who likely wouldn’t cost the Earth, yet we will soon have both Pereyra and Hernanes who are natural trequartistas, and other CMs of Pogba, Marchisio, Lemina, Khedira and Asamoah. Seems a full house to me.
As for Hernanes…I haven’t written him off. He wasn’t the only player under performing before his injury. Too much class in his boots and history for him to be a total flop.
The only position I see us needing to fill is therefore RB, but only IF Caceres leaves (who can cover RB and CB).
More movement on the youth front, yet I will cover that elsewhere.
I’d go for Cesc in a heartbeat. Perfect for the 1 in the 4-3-1-2 or in midfield of a 4-3-3. Plus Chelsea want Pogba more than oil or Nazi money.
What is nazi money?
its a joke.
