Juventus are scheduled to meet with Sevilla today to discuss a transfer for Steven N’Zonzi.
The Bianconeri are in the market for a hard-working, combative midfielder to restore some strength to the centre of the pitch and according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, N’Zonzi is the player Allegri wants for the position.
According to the report, Juve are expected to meet with Sevilla today to discuss terms for the player who has already given his consent to a transfer, with Juve reportedly offering him a salary of €5m per year.
Sevilla are holding out for €40m which is the figure in the player release clause, however Beppe Marotta could start negotiations by offering €30m, aided by the will of the player who wants to join Juventus.
CorSport also confirm the expected meeting but suggest that Juve have a list of alternatives to look to, if they aren’t able to find terms with the Andalusian club. Fabinho of Monaco and Liverpool’s Emre Can are other options, while Andres Iniesta, who was linked previously, will only become a target if he decides not to renew with Barçelona and decides to look for a new experience abroad.

Had we only offered a little more to Zenith…Witsel would have been in Turin from January onwards and we would only be now seeking strength on the flanks. Nevermind. I am happy to find us chasing a player who I believe will add hugely to our cause. The price seems high, yet it is very hard indeed to work out an acceptable value and to also get the players we want. The Schick price is a sign of the times…If we are to bring in Schick, Costa, Nzonzi, the Pole, Keita/Berarndeschi and possibly De Sciglio, the side will be greatly strengthened. No doubt on that score.
I was never convinced of Witsel’s talent, he seemed average at the national level, and only slightly better than average at the club level in Russia ( a very weak league), i doubt he would have solved our problems, I sensed another Lemina in Witsel, Same goes for N’Zonzi he is average, and isn’t at the age where he can get much better with time, what N’Zonzi does have is experience…But don’t we have that in Rincon? We should scrap this N’zonzi foolishness and go for the already good and much more promising futures of Bakayoko, or Fabinho, hell if you want “established” then there is none other than Matic, whom along side Khedira would overrun so many teams; we already missed out on Tolisso, which is angering enough. lets not miss out on Matic, Fabinho or Bakayoko, for some average player like N’zonzi. Should Rincon leave N’zonzi would be a more quality bac up to take his place, but as our main Defensive mid reinforcement for the summer, N’Zonzi just isn’t our caliber.
De Sciglio
Di Maria
N’Zonzi
Sczesney
Emre Can
Riyad Mahrez
Leonardo Paredes
Morota’s Judgment is really being put into question this transfer season, they are all garbage players he is interested in this year.
I entirely agree. N’Zonzi is only average. And it’s taken him a long time into his career to finally have a break out season.
A recent interview with Allegri stated that Juve aren’t gonna go out of their way to strengthen the fullback role either. So does Fabinho not make perfect sense? Should Dani Alves get injured again, we have a player that’s just as comfortable playing as a right back as he is in the center of the pitch.
And if that doesn’t work out, look at Emre Can, who’s agent directly offered his services to Juve, or maybe even the single player we’ve all wanted and needed for so long… VERRATTI. Players that feature regularly for club and country and are 5 years N’Zonzi’s junior.
Yup Fabinho makes all the sense in the world for that reason exactly! Yes! Plus should Fabinho not perform as expected, should we missguae his promising talents in midfield then yes he can go to RB, and we can get another defensive mid, not to mention just the sheer versatility of moving Fabinho around where needed for an injury as you already stated. There is so much tactical advantage in Fabinho, and the boy really does have talent, he is a win win
I would prefer Emre Can over N’zonzi, but just because i also follow Liverpool i’ve seen Can play plenty, and he isnt even talent enough for Liverpool in my opinion, let alone for Juve. Can is just to inconsistent, however it could do him good to learn from Khedira, and Pjanic, When Emre Can is at his best he does appear to be a hybrid of Pjanic and Khedira
Nonzi is a deep lying playmaker cum anchor-man. I believe Rincon is solely a tidy DM, at least from what I have seen of him at Juve.
Only Marchisio is comfortable playing that role for us and his fitness remains far from what it was pre-ACL injury.
I didn’t know Matic was available. Why would Conte release one of the titans of his superb debut season? It is very hard to find a midfielder like Matic, as with Kante. The two together are the main reason why the fullbacks and forwards can attack with such fury en-masse.
Douglas Costa, Schick, Keita, De Sciglio, Nzonzi, Bernardeschi, Sczesney appear decent signings to my eyes. I would prefer a stronger DM, yet as mentioned its a very tricky player to find. We will most likely be priced out for Fabinho which is bound to happen with many targets. We do not have the riches of other clubs, nor do I wish to see us paying well over the odds for players who are not proven quality at our level.
As for Nzonzi, he seems to me a vast improvement on Sturaro and Rincon for the DM option. No world beater, yet no mug either. He is also huge…

True N’zonzi does seem better than Sturaro and Rincon, But, still i dont deem him quality enough to trust, then again I dont watch Sevilla games and only speak from what i have seen here and there and in youtube videos. I would Welcome NZonzi, but i would like it if we also buy another DM to fight and provide competition. I see Sturaro Leaving, Rincon, idk what juve will do regarding him.
N,zonzi is not average in my eyes. we can’t just love what Marotta does every season and then say he is no good. Of course you have to know what he is doing. N,zonzi is a strong mid field presence and his persistent defensive pressure is something we don’t have in midfield at the moment. Khedira offensive positioning is good but when we lose the ball teams are able to push past our midfield with ease and N,zonzi from what I have seen is good at tracking back. One of N,zonzi most important qualities and you guys will see this when we buy him is his passing. This guy knows how to pass the ball and that will be key to causing problems to the oppositions midfield along with pjanic we will be ok . I wish we could have Matic + N,zonzi that would be my dream. N,zonzi is far from garbage and we will all be celebrating him soon enough. sturaro on loan and sell lemina I like Rincon. Tolisso would have been perfect to in my eyes he is sort of the same player as N,zonzi thats why we allegri wants him.
Well put, Christian.
Matic
Fabinho
Bakayoko
Naby Keita
are all players i would take over N’zonzi without thinking twice, and if Milan where able to steal Silva from under the noses of top English clubs, i dont see why we can’t, We are just a better and much more competent team than the EPL’s top 6 clubs, and likely will be for a few more seasons to come. N’Zonzi himself is also supposedly picking us and snubbing Chelsea. I hope you are right though, i hope N’Zonzi will be that surprising Wonder Signing.
