With only a month left until the transfer market closes for the summer, Juve’s pursuit for a central midfielder has intensified and reports in Italy suggest they may bid for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.

The Bianconeri are on the hunt for a high-quality midfielder to join Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio in making up a quarter that gives Max Allegri more options in the centre of the pitch.

Tuttosport report that in the last few days, Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici are once again considering Portuguese international Andre Gomes having missed out on the player last summer when he opted to join Barcelona.

Despite having joined the Blaugrana for €35m plus almost €20m in bonuses, the former Valencia man had a lackluster debut season and there are suggestions he may be allowed to leave this summer.

It’s reported Juve were not put off by the 24-year-old’s poor start to his Barcelona career and are prepared to make an offer to sign him, despite his hefty salary.

With Emre Can set to renew at Liverpool, Nemanja Matic joining Manchester United and Sevilla refusing to budge on their €40m asking price for Steven N’Zonzi, it’s believed Juve’s midfield signing will be either Gomes or PSG’s Blaise Matuidi.
