Juventus have been linked with a move for Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay as they look to reinforce their back line.

With Leonardo Bonucci’s departure to Milan coming as a shock to many, it’s been suggested in the Italian press that Juve may invest in another centre-back.

The initial idea was to bring Mattia Caldara to Turin a year ahead of schedule, however Atalanta are adamant that they won’t release him until the end of his loan in 2018.

Spanish paper AS report that Max Allegri was unimpressed by the various pairings of Daniele Rugani and Medhi Benatia as well as Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli in Juve’s 4-man back line.

AS report that Juve could invest in a new defender before the market closes with both Valencia’s Ezequiel Garay and Porto’s Felipe named as possible targets.

It’s reported Garay is the more likely of the two given he holds an EU passport and the relations between the two sides are very good as they look set to do business again, this time for Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina.
