Juventus are pressing on with their interest in Blaise Matuidi and will reportedly make an offer of €15m for the French midfielder.
With Nemanja Matic joining Manchester United and Emre Can poised to sign a new deal at Liverpool, the Bianconeri’s options have become further limited.
Steven N’Zonzi remains in the background, but with Sevilla refusing to budge on their €40m price-tag, it seems Juve will be looking elsewhere.
The one name has remained a constant throughout the summer is PSG’s Blaise Matuidi and there are reports from Italy that Juve could press on in an effort to sign the French International.
According to Premium Sport, Mino Raiola is scheduled to meet with the Paris Saint Germain management this week as Matuidi doesn’t wish to renew his contract which expires in June 2018.
Juve are hoping to use Raiola as an intermediary to present their €15m offer in the hopes of getting Matuidi well in advance of the start of the new season.
Fifteen million seems reasonable if that is the true. The shitty relationship with PSG will do the rest.
it’s almost a steal, Sure he is 30, but his form (assuming he keeps it) is worth at the very least twice as much.
Also PSG may wish to rectify their bad relationship with us, in a delusional hope to someday (in a season or 2) pry away Dybala.
They don’t need to build relationships with clubs, given their financial clout…
I doubt that Matuidi is not another Hernanes in the making, and I like that we are addressing the long standing issue of some hustle, technique and muscle in the middle of the park…a player who can win the ball, keep the ball, use the ball intelligently and allow the play to flow through him always in the right direction…but…the 2 in central midfield might have to morph into a 3. Because Pjanic will assuredly be a starter, Khedira is a favourite of Max, and now Il Principino looks somewhere near his best of old, physically which was all that was lacking in his comeback season last term.
We also have an extremely promising Rodrigo, who I have been banging on about for many moons and am so happy he is finally with the squad and impressing as I knew he would. South American football may not be close to Serie A tactically, but its a man’s game with a fair few patches of real quality, and for a lengthy period, the youngster has been playing at the top level over there. He captained his side to top spot in the SA U20 championships and won the title with Boca seniors in 2017. In short, he comes with a splendid pedigree.
I assume one of Rincon and Sturaro will join Lemina in departing. Probably the latter, as Max trusts Rincon more, but how often will he play?
Marchisio, Rincon, Bentancur, Matuidi as more deep lying CMs
Khedira, Pjanic as more attacking CMs
6 into 2 does not go easily, and whilst rotation can be useful, I feel that we really should be heading towards a starting XI which knows itself intimately, and builds momentum as the season progresses…Interesting time.
Dybala will join Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Why are we looking at Matuidi? I always thought he was a RM not a CDM?
So let’s say PSG agrees. How much will we end up paying Raiola now and when Matudi leaves in 2-3 years? These super agents aren’t playing around. Especially not Jorge Mendes, that guy runs the club, players and coaches.
