Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli admits they did not start their game against Benfica well.
The Bianconeri were eliminated from the UCL after losing 4-3 against the Portuguese side in Lisbon.
They travelled to Portugal knowing only a win would keep them in the UCL until the final group game of the season.
However, the Bianconeri could not get the job done, thanks partly to a slow start to the game.
They have now been eliminated and must beat PSG in their final group game while hoping Maccabi Haifa does not defeat Benfica before they can continue in Europe.
Speaking after the fixture, Locatelli said via Calciomercato:
“It’s really a shame. The last 20 minutes are for a team that has the attributes to play these matches. Let’s see the positive things.
“Football is made up of episodes. The approach was wrong by the whole team, not by a single player.
“There was the risk of a bad match. We had a really bad first half, but then we reacted. We have to carry this reaction with us.”

It is good that Locatelli recognises the team was in poor form and has to do better in a match like that.
If his teammates share his views, we expect them to get better and do a much-improved job when they are on the pitch again.
the team`s approach, their morale, formation, and tactics come from…. the coach. Brand Fans will be celebrating `nearly a point` no doubt. Nothing improves until allegri is gone. #AllegriOut #BanterEra
Agree. On spot!
If they don’t want to miss on CL cash next year, the board should definitely change Allegri and his associates, the sooner the better. Even if they get Palladino, almost anyone will do better. I wish and root for Deschamps.
This board are joke, where is Elkmann to make things straight. They wanted attractive football and in the middle of the transition they go back to cattenacho (allegri), then they want to build on the future with hot talents and go and buy veterans (phisically or mentaly – in sense injury prone, unfit and as long as I get my pay cheque attitude) because allegri doesn’t know how to play youngsters and build for the future and then they cry over 50M+ loss from prize money and the revenues but still dont fire this useless clown allegri, because they blindly hope allegri will reach the 4th place and eventually they will lose much more money instead they would loose only 30M, then at the first place off course they offer such high and longterm contract, any small businessmen would know sticking with him is only a financiall loss and for the last they gave they word that they are inspecting such and such points from 5 games otherwise they will fire him and you know how it ended. disgrace, to swallow your own words agnelli and co.
In some way is like you go to watch an action movie and sooner or later you discover is it a horror movie.
Would be nice to see a choreography spreaking loudly itself.
