Ex-Juventus striker Luca Toni believes Pep Guardiola will one day coach in Serie A and could imagine seeing him in charge at Juventus.

The Manchester City boss has been linked with a move to Juventus by certain parts of the Italian press, despite Pep ruling out a move any time soon.

Former Bayern Munich and Juve striker Toni expects to see Pep in Italy at some stage in the near future.

“He loves challenges and during his time at Bayern, when he knew that the next season would go to Manchester City, he told me he wanted to return to Serie A as a coach,” Toni told Tuttosport.

“Where do I imagine him? Roma, because he played there and he remained tied to the club, or to Juventus, which is now the number one club.

“A move this summer? I don’t think so, even if in football confirmations are tied to the moment and anything can happen until the last minute.

“Top coaches will depend on the market: now it seems they’re all tied to their clubs, then maybe as a surprise a coach is released and a domino effect is triggered.

“What do I think of Allegri? I have a lot of appreciation for him. If Allegri decided to leave, I certainly expect another big name at Juventus.

“Guardiola, as long as he wants to leave the City, wouldn’t surprise me as a choice.”
