Mattia Perin’s move to Benfica has been delayed with no clear decision made on his future.

The 26-year-old keeper had been poised for a switch to the Portuguese giants yesterday, however reports filtered through that he had failed his medical.

An official announcement from Benfica confirmed that the move had fell through, however reports suggested that Juventus were left annoyed by the speed with which the Águias had announced the collapse of the deal.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that the two clubs are reconsidering the move with an initial suggestion that Perin will remain in Turin for four months to aid his rehabilitation.

A further suggestion from Sky Sport Italia is that Juve and Benfica will agree to a loan move with an obligation to sign outright or the deal will be cancelled altogether.
