Juve striker Alvaro Morata has distanced himself from a possible return to Real Madrid, declaring “happiness counts more than clauses.”

The Spanish international joined the Bianconeri last summer but Real retained a buy-out clause which means they can but him back in 206 or 2017 for approximately €30m.

“It’s true that the paperwork says I could return to Madrid, but some things go beyond clauses and have to deal with how people actually feel,” Morata told Radio Marca in Spain.

“Happiness counts more than clauses.”

Turning his attention to this seasons Champions League final, Morata expressed his desire to win next years final in Milan.

“If we reach the Final and win the Champions League at San Siro, I will walk back to Turin on foot!”
