Juventus have confirmed that Daniele Rugani has signed a contract renewal with the Bianconeri until 2021.

The club confirmed the deal earlier today with a brief statement on their official website:

Daniele Rugani has today committed his long-term future to Juventus, renewing his contract for another five years which will keep him with the club until 2021.

The young defender gave an exclusive interview to Juventus.com where he expressed his happiness at renewing his contract at the club he has supported since he was a boy.

“I am proud to have renewed his contract for five years until 2021,” the 22-year-old defender told Juventus.com

“This route that I’ve taken gives me great satisfaction. I want to say lots of things about it, it means that the club believes in me, that I’m doing well and I’m happy and proud of this.

“I’m happy because I was born a Juve fan and to extend for five years gives me the greatest satisfaction of all.

“The pressure is always there, including this year because I’m playing more. Now, I’ve found more space but the pressure was also there last year when I had to prove myself.

“What has changed is the maturity and mental awareness that I have gained. This is normal in the development of a player who comes from an exceptional club like Empoli.

“The difference from last year is that I’m able to handle this better and I think I’ve made progress in this way.

“As a team, we hope to continue, we aren’t the finished product and there are others that are more important than me.

“For a defender it’s beautiful to score goals, perhaps even more than an attacker because it doesn’t happen often and it is always wonderful.

“I hope it won’t be my last and that the goals continue to come.

“What Allegri said to me was beautiful, it gives me enormous pleasure, in the same way that the club has demonstrated confidence in me with this super renewal.

“These are the things that give me so much pleasure.

“My aim is to do what the Coach says: to be an important Juventus defender for the next 10 years.

“The goal is this and I’ll do what it takes to improve in order to reach this point.”
