Director general Beppe Marotta appeared at Juve’s shareholder’s meeting to confirm that Paul Pogba has signed a new deal, keeping him at the club until at least 2019.

“I’ll give you a preview of the news: This morning we signed Pogba’s new contract, he’ll stay with Juventus until 2019.”

The Frenchman had been linked with a move away from the club for some time with both Real Madrid and PSG rumoured to be interested in signing the midfielder but his agent clarified the situation earlier today.

“Yes, we met with Marotta and together we decided to renew Paul’s contract,” Raiola has told Tuttosport.

“Now is the time to do it, we’re happy that this situation has come about. The negotiations are not over yet. ”

“Knowing me they could last a long time, because I always want to do things right. But with Pogba and Juventus slowly we will get there.

“We will meet again soon, the relationship between us and Juventus continues to be excellent. There is mutual satisfaction, we want to continue together.”

Marotta commented on Pogba’s salary increase, taking him from €1.5m to as much as €4.5m.

“We deem the salary increase for Pogba appropriate to his value. I remind you that in the Bayern battleship which beat Roma, there are many players who earn more than €10m.”

Confirmation came later in the day as the club announced the extension via the official Twitter account and posted this video:
