Premier League sides Brighton and Southampton are claimed to be eyeing Juventus defender Koni de Winter this summer.

The 19 year-old is yet to get his senior debut in Turin, despite earning the right to be named as Under-19 captain for the youth side, and is now being targeted for a move.

Club Brugge are claimed to hold an interest in de Winter also, having followed him since his time with Zulte Waregem in Belgium, and they are unlikely to be put off by the 5 Million Euro asking price on his head.

The interest from England could prove problematic however if either of the PL clubs Southampton or Brighton are able to guarantee chances to impress in a first-team capacity.

Koni is known to be play at centre-back, but has the technical ability to play in central midfield also, and could well make a big impression once he does finally get his chance.

Belgian outlet NieuwsBlad claims that he still has three years remaining on his current deal at present, but adds that we are willing to sell for the lowly 5 Million Euro fee this summer.

I would hope that we would be including some sort of future fee or buyback clause in any dealings also, but it remains to be seen if these clubs will firm up their interest and actually make an offer or not.
