Maurizio Sarri is the short favourite to take over at Juventus however some parts of the Italian press continue to link Pep Guardiola to the Bianconeri bench.

Juve are reportedly close to making an announcement on their next coach as the season comes to a close and preparations get underway for the summer training schedule.

The usual Italian outlets such as Gazzetta Dello Sport, La Stampa and Sky Sport Italia report that with the Europa League Final over with, Juve will look to finalise a deal for Chelsea coach Sarri with suggestions of preliminary meetings already having been held.

Sportitalia report that Sarri is certain to join Juventus in the weeks ahead while Tuttosport claim that his agent Fali Ramadani has already reached a broad agreement with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia on a Juventus deal.

Despite the majority of the Italian press suggesting a deal for Sarri is close to completion, Turin based journalist Gianluca Momblano continues to insist that Pep Guardiola is Juve’s number one choice.

Momblano, who was among the first to break the story of Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus last summer, insists that “Guardiola is talking to Manchester City to free himself and join Juventus.”

In a lengthy article on his site, he claims that Juve consider Guardiola the first choice and that agreements have already been in place and is their only objective for the vacant managers position.
