Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that both Aaron Ramsey and Danilo will return to the squad however Mario Mandzukic continues to be absent this season.

The Bianconeri were facing an injury crisis of sorts but key players are returning to the squad ahead of the Bianconeri’s match against Bologna this weekend.

“Costa and De Sciglio are both progressing, but they still haven’t yet rejoined the group,” Sarri told the gathered press.

“In view of each game and the circumstances we decide whether to use 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. The players have to be ready to adapt to both formations, just like they have done up to now.

“Bologna are one of the sides who have impressed me the most in the first part of the season.

“The rankings in the table right now are not important, we have to concentrate putting in great performances. It’s always difficult starting again after the international break, it’s not easy for the players and there are a lot of risks.

“Blaise Matuidi is a player with extraordinary dynamism, with a great understanding of reading situations, as well as giving a lot to the team. He’s someone who gives you balance and stability.

“Juan Cuadrado is making great strides forward from a tactical point of view, but he still needs to improve individually in defence. He needs more training in that role than as an attacker.

“Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain are both suitable to play against Bologna. Mandzukic is not training with us, in agreement with the club. If the agreement changes, I am open to everything.”
