Contacts are continuing between Juventus, Ajax and Mino Raiola for the potential transfer of Matthijs De Ligt but his contract could include a release clause.

News of the possible transfer has developed at pace since breaking last night in the Dutch Paper, De Telegraaf.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that there have been several discussions between Juve Vice-President Pavel Nedbed and the players agent, Mino Raiola, as they look to find a solution.

The request is reportedly €12 m net, plus bonuses, with the inclusion of a termination clause that will vary every at the end of the season but will not be less than around €150m.

De Ligt’s is expected to cost Juventus between  €65-75m as the more Raiola manages to lower the cost of the transfer, the more the defender can earn at Juventus.

Di Marzio suggests that at the moment, Juve have never been so close to completing a deal for the Dutchman: De Ligt has given priority to the Bianconeri, so it will only be necessary to find an agreement but they will have a short time to complete as Paris Saint-Germain remain in contact.

The French club had effectively ‘booked’ the player, but with the farewell of the sporting director Antero Henrique, previous commitments no longer stood – A situation that has allowed Juventus to enter into negotiations.
