Juventus brushed aside Zdenek Zeman’s Cagliari, 3-1 with goals from Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal and Fernando Llorente to end the year top of the table.

Carlos Tevez opened the scoring, capitalising on some woeful defending from Alessio Cragno to tap in at the near post taking his goal tally to 10 in Serie A for the season. Albin Ekdal was the brightest player for Cagliari, forcing a save from Gianluigi Buffon.

Arturo Vidal scored a much needed goal with a moment of brilliance by shooting from outside of the box, curling his effort past the Cagliari keeper. Fernando Llorente gave his confidence a boost early in the second half, latching onto Pirlo’s cross and spinning his man to find the net.

Cagliari got one back but Juventus continued to exert themselves and played out a comfortable final 20 minutes ahead of next weeks Super Coppa clash against Napoli.

Gianluigi Buffon

Did well to deny Ekdal early on but could do nothing about Cagliari’s goal. rarely tested otherwise.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

No surprises that Juve got so much service down the right as the Swiss Express ran the flank with his typical industry and vision. Connected well with Pereyra and Pirlo to give Juve a spark in the final third and kept Conti quiet for most of the night.

Angelo Ogbonna

A masterclass from the defender as he looked confident from the start. Cut out passes and marked Ibarbo out of the match. New defender ? Do we really need one ?

Giorgio Chiellini

Kept an eye on Cossu throughout the match and was his usual dependable self. Solid.

Patrice Evra

Was at fault for Cagliari’s goal but that aside, he’s readily becoming the player Juventus wanted at left-back. At his best when attacking, he never stopped getting into the Cagliari half to cause them problems.

6.5 / 10

Roberto Pereyra

Another match where he started brightly, trying to create chances for the front two. Drifted out of the game in the second half but gave yet another good account of himself.

6.5 / 10

Claudio Marchisio

Connected well with the full-backs every chance he got by spreading playing out wide. Ran the midfield well alongside Pirlo.

6.5 / 10

Andrea Pirlo

Another vintage performance from the veteran, spraying passes all around the pitch and supplying Llorente with the cross for Juve’s third. Superb.

 Arturo Vidal – MOM

More like the Vidal of last season. A hard working, battling display from the Chilean with lots of hard work in the centre of the pitch and a beautiful goal to cap off a solid performance.

7.5 / 10

Carlos Tevez

Opened the scoring just minutes into the game and proved to be a handfull for the Cagliari defence all match. Now has 10 goals to his name for the season.

7.0 / 10

Fernando Llorente

Tested Cragno early on and set the tempo for his performance. Scored a brilliant solo goal by spinning his man and firing past the keeper. Brilliant.
