Young Juventus midfielder is suddenly on the outs – Another loan switch?

August 18, 2022 - 7:15 pm

Prior to the first official match of the season, many observers expected Nicolò Fagioli to start for Juventus in the absence of Paul Pogba. Nonetheless, the young midfielder remained on the bench for the whole 90 minutes.

During the second half, the comfortable scoreline against Sassuolo allowed Max Allegri to put his guard down and introduce a host of youngsters. Fabio Miretti, Nicolò Rovella and Matias Soulé were all granted minutes… But not Fagioli.

According to la Gazzetta dello Sport via JuventusNews24, the pecking order in the middle of the park has changed recently, and the 21-year-old could be on the outs.

So while most of us expected Fagioli to be a part of the first team this season, the source believes that he could be sent on loan for the second season in a row.

The Juventus youth product spent the previous campaign at Cremonese, helping the club secure a historic promotion. Therefore, the Serie A new boys are reportedly hellbent on having the midfielder at their disposal for another campaign.

Last week, Fagioli signed a new contract with Juventus which runs until 2026. So while some foresaw an immediate role for the player in Turin, it appears that the long-term was only meant to give the management more leverage on the transfer market.

Not Rabiot, he’s making room for Paredes…which (and I hope I’m wrong) will backfire.

NO, no. FAGIOLI should stay. ALLEGRI himself knows how creative and talented this young guy is. FREEZE RABIOT out and give playing time to FAGIOLI.

FAGIOLI should stay and should be given playing time. Instead of RABIOT.

    What a waste!!!
Allegri and Juve re just waisting these young talents. Take a look at Barela at Inter, Tonali at AC Milan and so on. But at Juve it’s always different. Regardless of Allegri’s achievement this season juventus needs to bring in a coach who can work with both experienced and young players. No point signing or gathering these young if you don’t have plans for them

Another pig-headed decision by Allegri. Rabiot should never set foot on the field for Juventus, not just for his previous poor performances, but not moving to ManU due to the excessive greed of his mother for what is, a very average player. Now we are stuck with him and Allegri will continue to play him at the expense of Rovella, Fagioli and Miretti – it’s a disgrace really.

I think it’s time we the fans take matter into our own hands by boycotting the football matches and sending a strong message to the owners of the club. Look at the clubs in England for example their owners don’t mess with the fans because they know how important they are to the clubs revenue. We let them know Rabiot and Arthur has to go or they suffer a huge loss in revenue.

Stop crying about wasting talents. The player should get playing time instead of sitting on the bench in favour of Di Maria, Pogba, Chiesa, Locatelli, McKennie, Kostic, Zakaria, Rabiot (I think we are stuck with this guy, but as of today he’s better than Fagioli). There is also Soule, Rovella, Miretti, Da Gracca, Ake… How do you gonna play them all at the same time? Some go on a loan and come back with more experience. I didn’t even mention Arthur. That brings us to a minimum of 15 (!) midfielders. So now what, let’s offload all the experienced ones and give a chance to the youth? Who’s gonna play Champions League games? How do you want them to win the Scudetto, when we already offloaded Chiellini, Morata, Dybala? Complaint less and put some trust in the managers
