Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is heading to Germany to assess Julian Draxler but will also make enquiries about Mario Gotze and Kevin De Bruyne.
Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Paratici will be assessing Draxler as the Bianconeri’s primary target, however Mario Gotze is also of interest while Kevin De Bruyne is the latest possibility.
Transfer website Calciomercato report that Draxler’s previous injuries are of concern to Juve, meaning Paratici will look for assurances about the players fitness before discussing a possible move.
The website goes on to suggest that Juve will offer in the region of €25m to sign the player outright, rather than the reported original offer which included a loan, with an option to buy.
Next on the list is Mario Gotze, a player who has already expressed his admiration for Juve earlier this week – Paratici is expected to meet with the players agents to fully understand the situation.
Last up is Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne, probably the least likely of the trio to land in Turin. La Stampa and others suggest the deal would be too difficult for the Bianconeri to complete, but there will be meetings to fully assess the possibility.

Marchisio has shown an abundance of creativity this last season… Theres also Morata. Hes not “typical” creative player, but he is bale to creat a bunch. Pereyra with his dribbling ability as well, but i do agree that we couls use a player who is known for creativity
Marchisio is way more direct than being that typical creative player. He is way more likely to make short quick passes to get the offense moving instead of sexy long balls ala Pirlo. He’s a great fulcrum to have at the back but I do think we need a more creative guy to play behind the strikers

I would take him on my team every day… Madrid has been chasing this guy for years and for good reason .. Hypothetically speaking of course, if Rome were to put him on the market, one of the big teams would pick him up in a heart beat for 25-30 million .. No problem. Nobody pays 25mill for the current De Rossi. Yeah he’s a great player and I fucking love De Rossi, but he simply isn’t worth that much. He’s a shadow of what he used to be and is only going down more.
When he leaves Roma it will be for some shitty MLS team, he ain’t going anywhere else in Serie A. And the max fee paid for him will be 10mill.
Madrid would die laughing if you offered them De Rossi for 25mill now. It’s not because he is a huge name that he is still worth that much. Sure Pirlo was a great move for us, but do you think he would have been here if the fee was 25mill instead of a Bosman? I rather doubt it.
Pirlo is great for his vision and his passes, he could last another 5 years easily. De Rossi is a fighter type and age is getting to him

De Rossi also isn’t anywhere near Vidal’s level. He puts in good performances for Italy but really wasn’t that good last year. I don’t want that guy anywhere near this club
Derossi is fantastic … He never plays for a good team. That’s why he shines when he’s played for the national team, because he’s had better players around him … Put him on Juve for 3 years and it would be an amazing investment.
Kep in mind the midfield he is playing with right now. Strootman naingallon and pjanic are all good players. Yet he still doesnt shine. I’m not his biggest fan. Plus he’s not like Totti. DDR demanded to be the highest paid player in Serie A or else he’d leave which Totti would never do. Apparently he’s getting offered butloads of cash from retitemnet leagues and is staying at roma still. Prob good for us tho cuz he’s at his end

Yeah that’s my biggest concern. It’s not a video game where you can just throw whoever you want out there. There needs to be some chemistry involved. But I think this team can do it. All the young guns and new additions seem pretty motivated to do well
Even though we lost Vidal(he’s still not gone), Tevez and Pirlo, we still have captain Gigi, Marchisio, Chiellini, Bonucci etc. The Italian core is still there.
Yep the back line is still solid as ever. I’m thinking mostly about the ATT positions because we relied on Tevez so much last year and it’s looking like we are moving towards a more free and fluid system and I feel like that requires some understanding among the forwards. But we have time and friendlies to work that out. Personally I’m not expecting to see our best football right away

These past two summers have been big tasks. Conte leaves and the players want to prove they can do it without him. Then Tevez vidal and Pirlo leave and the players and Allegri want to show that they can still do it w/o them. Then next summer it looks like it’ll be trying to hold onto Pogba and Morata. It’ll be nice who steps up this year (I’m expecting a huge season from Pogba)

I kinda agree with adp though, I’m not too excited about Draxler/Gotze, I’d much rather have added Berardi and leave it at that. Berardi and Dybala could both do well as wide attacker or trequartista imo, Morata is a pure 9 so he will have to duel Mandzukic there and ten we have Zaza and Coman left to battle it out to get regular subs.

Really? I am one of Berardi’s biggest advocates but Draxler has potential to become absolutely world class and he has already displayed it only at 21 years old! Looking ahead with Draxler and berardi on the wings with Dybala/Morata in the middle is scary good

Unfortunately, I see a massive step back for Juve this year … Winning the Scudetto is possible, but not replacing Pirlo and Vidal properly is going to hurt.
Sorry, but bringing Draxler in isn’t going ot the trick .. They made a ton of cash this past year with CL money and other in revenues including selling Vidal and Ogbonna, then Llorente and Tevez etc … Draxler can’t stay healthy and he’s not gonna be a difference maker like the people we have that just left.
I just hope we finish top 3 in Italy … CL is an afterthought now. We’ll be lucky to get back to the quarter finals.

Marchisio can play pirlo’s position and there were a lot of times last season that I thought pereyra played a lot better than vidal. I am worried about our attack though with tevez now gone.
Draxler isn’t going to be the answer I think. Juve should go all out for gotze.
Marchisio>Pirlo last year and we brought in a wc winner in khedira. Asamoah is also back to patrol the midfield. Rugani was brought in to take ogbonna’s spot. Also llorente hasn’t been sold and we didn’t recieve any money from Tevez and Pirlo. We bought dybala for 40m Zaza for 18m Rugani for 4m Pereyra for 14m Mandzukic for 19m. I think everyone is a little spoiled from last year. No one expected us to make it that far and now it seem like everyone expects a repeat of last year. Even when we were one of the strongest team in the world we have only made 8 finals in our entire history. We have barely spent any money post calciopoli and now we are starting to spend more and people are complaining about it?? Beppe has brought this team back to glory and it seems like all people do is complain. Isco is spanish and is at the biggest spanish team. Same with Goetze. Oscar said he is staying at Chelsea. It will be difficult to persuade the first 2 to come to a new country and league when they are still so young and can become national icons in their current situation. Draxler however has shown that he can be a dominant player if he is healthy and I doubt Paratici would just walk into Germany without doing any scouting or research on a player and just scoop him up for a big sum. He said he has been following draxler for 3 years and I’m sure they’ve held talks to see how he is doing. A little trust in management for christ sake

But time and time again our management has shown that they know what they are doing so I try to reserve my judgement until I see how the team plays at least. And not friendlies either bc we all know how those usually turn out lol
Good points – I think thats the feeling from many. The thing is, we operated on the cheap in seasons past. Worked within our budget and got quality players at a reasonable cost without spending like other clubs.
this summer, we have invested, but i see it as more of a long term thing – The player we bought mean that next summer, depending on this seasons success, we can hopefully take a break from going wild in the mercato.

I know we all love Pirlo, but it would be disrespectful to say that he had a good season last year. We all know what hes capable of and last season was definitely one to forget. He scored important goals and his freekicks are phenomenal, but he was not Pirlo last season. He was more of a liability than protagonist. Its harsh, but true. Same goes with Vidal. Vidal only started finding form around the real madrid games and, by that time, we had basically already closed out the league, so we did incredibly well with Vidal being in absolute crap form for we could probably say 80% of the season.
Replicating last season european run is going to be difficult, but we are in no way shape weaker than we were this time last season. Marchisio, Pereyra, Dybala, Rugani, Morata came off of incrediblw seasons last year and Mandzuikic and Khedira are proven players.
The player which we will definitely miss is Tevez, but even towards the second half of the season, we were less and less dependant on him.
Tevez carried us in CL last year. That is where I am most concerened about. However, we now have a way more experienced Morata and Mandzu comes in w his european experience as well. I just hope that come december we are not in a must win situation in order to progress to gli ottavi. We always make it way harder than it has to be in the group stages lol

Pirlo was good last year … Very good. I don’t get why gets so much flack, even at his age. Sure, he isn’t the player he was 4 years ago, but he’s still world class and could start on many top teams … If he wasn’t good, he wouldn’t have started the CL Final.
Having said that, my original point is that Tevez and Pirlo are replaceable and/or the loss wouldn’t be so bad because they did pick up good players and already have very good players .. But, losing Pirlo and Tevez in one off season is one thing, but losing Vidal on top of that certainly does make things concerning … If they’re going to sell Vidal, than his replacement should be someone that is already world class, impactful like he is and an overall difference maker … Like Vidal. We have to replace what he is to the team … It doesn’t have to be the same type of player he is, but someone who is of the same level, even if he brings a different dynamic to a game than Vidal does.
I;ve got to say, this coming season, I plan to put my feet up and just watch the team and enjoy every minute. We’ve won 4 in a row. I don;t expect us to replicate the success in europe but i think we can still win the league. Lots of strength on the bench as well.
I figure this season is the first one where Allegri can actually play his own team, his way. Last team was set up for 3-5-2 – This season, he can play his own 4-3-1-2 the way he wants.
It may work…..or it may end in distaster, but either way, I just want to enjoy the football again like i did in the first season under Conte. That was the last season that i felt truly happy about. Even last season with all the success, still felt like we had so much to prove and more was a stake.
This season, i feel we can just relax again and watch things come together on the pitch
I have a feeling that come mid season we are going to be playing some absolutely beautiful football and I can’t wait. I agree that this season with all these young guys it’s more of seeing what’s happening on the pitch than just hoping for good results if that makes sense? Very excited for all these new additions
