Juventus have targeted Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio and he could become on the Bianconeri’s first signings this summer.
Premium Sport report that Juve ‘have already finalised’ an agreement with De Sciglio and are now preparing to meet with Milan to discuss a transfer fee.
Today’s Corriere della Sera also report that 24-year-old De Sciglio is a strong candidate for Juve this summer and he is expected to be one of the first summer signings alongside Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick.
De Sciglio made his Milan debut under Max Allegri and the Juve coach is a known admirer of the youngster who is wanted at Juve to take over in the long term from Dani Alves and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
WOW! We are making a big mistake here, So RB of much better quality out there! DeSciglio is Talentless, Does not have the correct mentality, And has nothing to offer us. He will be our worst buy in Ages! all because of an Allegri love affair, and the delusion that such an average, and talentless player can be turned into something rivaling Dani Alves
He will probably only be a replacement for lichtsteiner (who will hopefully leave) and a better RB/WB will be coming when Dani retires.
We have Pol Lirola, i expect him to be back in 2018/2019 to claim this spot
“who will hopefully leave” : what kind of disrespect is that ? A younger player will be needed, for sure, but Lichtsteiner has a contract for one more year, he is part of our history and he always does the job. I think we can be grateful for what he has done for our club. Forza Licht 😉
It’s not disrespect, it’s facing the reality – Lichty is not as he once were (i.e good). I’m very grateful to him, he was amongst those who brought back juve’s glory.. but his time (to gokr has come.
I disagree totally. He hasn’t developed because of the club he plays for. Under Allgeri’s guidance and coaching, I am sure he will develop into a very important player for us.
Exactly this
agree wholly with your assertions
No No. No more average Rincon/Sturaro/Lemina players. Target 2-3 QUALITY signings. 40-70 mill. A couple of Monaco players and Tolisso and Douglas Costa.
I agree with you. We need some quality players not average.
lol… These ones have served dutifully and having too many “stars” obviously doesn’t do much good, De Sciglio though isn’t average, just been unfortunate with injuries and low grade players for team mates
I’ve always liked De Sciglio. Think he can be big. He might not sound fancy now, but he is a powerful, versatile player to have.
Thirty+ caps for Italy at 24, as a defender is brilliant pedigree. I’m sure marrota and paratici have been keeping an eye on his contract situation for a fair time and they, not allegri, are continuing their habit of signing Italian, proven talent at a good age wherever possible. He already knows the coach and the azzurri bloc of black and white. Versatile and with lichsteiner to leave, possibly asamoah in turn, ill be pleased with the move if confirmed.
Plenty of room to improve, yet already one of the finest fullbacks proving themselves at senior level in the last few years. United grabbed the wrong one!
No doubt a very decent signing, especially at the rumoured price of around 10-15M.
He is a decent player, agreed! but don’t you guys think more attack-minded RB’s like Andrea Conti of Atalanta and Pol Lirola are better options?
I think Pol Lirola would still be on loan come next season, so having De Sciglio wouldn’t hurt at all.
He can deputize Dani or Sandro till Lirola arrives and he can then be used depending on the coach’s tactical plan, just the way Max uses Litch and Dani.
Pol Lirola’s loan was for 2 yrs, so he is at Sassuolo for 1 more unless we pay to bring him back
I like DeSciglio… but am concerned about his injury history. But look at his performances for the Azzurri; we know Conte wouldn’t just play anyone as his wingbacks… they had to do the job. So bringing in someone with grinta will fit us.
He can play LB or RB which is huge, because I love Asamoah, but he still gets exposed as a LB. Lichsteiner’s performances have become more erratic; and his crossing ability was never great… So I do think this is a good move.
Versatile, experienced but young(er) and Italian too… it is important to keep that identity in the squad!
