Max Allegri doesn’t have any concerns over the news that Barcelona are preparing a bid for Paulo Dybala, assuring a press conference “I’m not afraid of losing Paulo Dybala.”
Reports in the Catalan media suggested that the impending transfer of Neymar from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for €222m could force the Spanish side to make a large bid to sign La Joya.
Despite the rumours, Allegri assured the press ahead of Juve’s friendly against the Catalans that he had no worries about losing the young Argentine.
“I don’t know directly what’s happening at Barcelona with Neymar and PSG,” Allegri told the gathered press.
“With that in mind I don’t know if Barcelona will try to buy a replacement, but I’m not afraid of losing Dybala. I’m not worried.”
If Barca loose neymar they will buy dybala. However Liverpool will loose Emre Can. This whole Bernardeschi thing is starting to make sense. We are preparing to loose dybala. It will be swift just like Bonucci.
Can’t see Emre Can being a consolation to the fans if we say goodbye to Dybala. Liverpool fans would not lose any sleep over losing Can I can promise you.
Except if Liverpool lose Coutinho to us, then having Can is just a stupid consolation if Dybala is lost!
But that would not happen. Liverpool would stick a price tag on him that only Chelsea, PSG, Man City and Utd, Real or Barca could afford. Remember, Beppe has said that Gonzo was a one-off in terms of transfer fee we would pay at that level currently.
One way or another, it’ll all work out. Pre-Calciopoli, we were the top level of Europe. Neither English nor Spanish nor German clubs could dictate terms to us. Been a long slog back from that nightmare. But we are back, with stable and increasing income stream and prudent, occasionally adventurous management. A proud, exciting team with a long tradition of character and success. Sometimes it’s worth taking a short breather from all the transfer window crap and appreciating the stability and competence of the organization. This feeling of bliss will likely last a couple days until I get into it with someone over something “urgent” like my consistently unpopular preference for Lemina over Sturaro and Rincon.
This is one of the strangest transfer windows ever.
Honestly, I’m worries. For many reasons, Dybala could leave Juve. Yes he is a Juve fans but we know they footballers are profesional. They will come for whom pay higher. This modern football, mates.
If Dybala goes it better be for a hefty fee. Why would he go and shadow Messi after Neymar beingg one of thhe TOP players left for that same reaason? Juventus already said they are going to build around Dybala. If he goes, can we even find a replacement for CAM? I don’t think Dybala would want to go to Barca at the shape it’s in right now…
Agreed. If Juve can continue to win Scudetti (Going to be harder this year, but much more interesting with larger # of good to excellent clubs in contention) and go deep into later UCL rounds, we are at the level of the best European clubs, and Serie A can gain another UCL place, then we are at Barça/Real/Bayern/Chelsea level and getting poached by Spanish top clubs is not a given. Monchi will strengthen Roma, even though they haven’t made a lot of noise this off-season.
Soccer the one sport where contracts seem merely symbolic, referencing sentiment at a specific moment in time. Lack of conviction/consistency among clubs undermines fan experience and allegiance, and empowers slimy agents unnecessarily. Neymar imploded against us in UCL last year, acted like a child all over the pitch. Wouldn’t want him even if he suddenly took a magic black-and-white-striped pill and offered to mop the locker room floor after practice. P.D. just re-upped contact a few months ago, among statements of his delight in realizing the dream of being a Bianconero. Must believe his statements about our club, act accordingly and not waver. A club of our pedigree must stand tall, observing its own obligations to the letter and expecting the same in return.
Agreed, but we don’t sometimes. If a big €100+ million euro offer comes in I bet we would consider it.
Max, you said Bonnuci would be a leader of the team a few weeks before he left, so what do you know?
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Dybala leaves. I always felt he saw Juve as a stepping stone to something bigger, and Barcelona’s persistent interest can easily lure him there. The prospect of Dybala leaving may be one reason Juve are committed to signing Bernardeschi.
I just hope Juve get loads of money if they do let him go. They should set an exorbitant fee like €150m and not budge one bit. The worst thing that could happen is he stays another season. I’m tired of seeing how poorly we sell (Pogba deal excepted) when the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern extract top dollars for the bench players!
