Gianluigi Buffon is poised to return to Juventus after a year at Paris Saint-Germain.

The veteran keeper left Turin last summer for a one-year contract with the French champions but looks set to return after both PSG and the player decided not to take up the option of a second year.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that talks have already been held between the club and keeper and the move is at an advanced stage.

Reserve keeper Mattia Perin looks set to leave the club this summer after just one year in Turin in search of more playing time, opening up a backup position for Buffon.

Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Andrea Agnelli has helped facilitate the move with Gigi set to earn €4m for a one year contract with Juventus before retiring in Turin and heading into a management role within the club.

Buffon’s agent Silvano Martina has hinted at a return to Juventus, telling SportItalia: “For now, it’s just an idea.”
