Carlos Tevez has confirmed he has no plans to renew his current contract with Juventus which ends in 2016.
“I want to respect my contract until 2016,” he told reporters at Buenos Aires airport, “That’s my plan.
“I don’t want to extend, that’s not how I feel at the moment.”
Tevez was asked about a possible return to his boyhood club Boca Juniors, but the 30-year-old striker urged calmness regarding any decisions over his future.
“It’s too hard to say right now,” he said, “I’m playing at a high level so it’s important to be calm and enjoy being in the moment.
“Constant speculation would drive me crazy.”
Im fine with that. Hes done so much for us and we shouldnt force him to stay. Plus, by that time, Berardi, Coman and Zaza should be up and ready to go
Zaza is 23, he should be ready already. Berardi and Coman can get a couple more years. Other european clubs’ cool young players are already playing and performing when they are in their early 20s.
I hadnt realised he was already 23.
well thats a clear signal to the board, start looking for another starting striker who is of at least the same level now/by then, no Tevez and this Juve is a whole lot weaker
I’m fine with it too ….. It’s not as if he’s 24, and in a year and a half who knows how his form and motivation will be … Or maybe, he will resign. Either way, it’s irrelevant … It’s a year and a half away and much could change …. Like Morata becoming a star for example….
Well, that sucks. I was happy to see him arrive, it would be great to sign an equally good partner until he is here.
meh. not really disappointed. He’ll be 32 by the time his contract ends and as others have mentioned, berardi and coman will be far more developed players (hopefully). also, tevez is the main thing holding us back from a 4-3-3 since he struggles out wide. with him gone, we could play a 4-3-3 with berardi and coman on the wings.
