Juventus have provided updates on the fitness of both Douglas Costa and Miralem Pjanic.

The duo limped off the pitch in Juve’s 0-0 draw against Fiorentina at the weekend with concerns over Costa in particular.

Juventus have since confirmed that Pjanics’ injury isn’t as serious as originally thought:

The diagnostic exams performed this morning at J | Medical did not show any muscle injuries for Pjanic who already performed a differentiated training in the field today.

The diagnosis was worse for the Brazilian who was clutching his leg prior to being substituted:

Douglas Costa reported a medium-grade muscle injury to the semimembranosus muscle of the right thigh; in 15 days new checks will be carried out to precisely define the recovery times

Pjanic may yet feature for Juve when the Bianconeri visit Madrid to face Atletico in their first Champions League group stage game.

Costa is expected to return to training mid-October meaning he may not be fit enough to play until late October.
