Paulo Dybala explained that his goal celebration was a joke between teammates and there was no political message.

La Joya scored a superb free-kick in the Bianconeri’s 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid to clinch top spot in Juve’s Champions League group.

“It was a good goal, as it was a difficult position, the angle was tight, there were lots of players in front of me,” Dybala told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team played a really good game, especially the first half, and we’re happy with the win. I feel in good shape, I try to give my best and at times can risk something a little more audacious, as things are going well for me and I want to make the most of that.”

Dybala dedicated the goal to his girlfriend before saluting teammate Merih Demiral on the sidelines.

“The first gesture to the chin is for my girlfriend, as we saw it in a film and it was the sign for love. As for Demiral, he’s great fun and it was just a joke between us in the dressing room, there was no message in that.”
