Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has all but confirmed that midfielder Hamed Junior Traore will be joining Juventus this summer.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a superb breakout season for Gli Azzurri, despite their relegation to Serie B and club President has confirmed Traore will join Juventus soon.

“Will Traore go to Juventus? The deal with them is in the pipeline, there are only signatures (missing) but there’s a verbal agreement and everything is defined,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“In January, he was already a young man with of great prospect, but the last five months have given us a player of importance, a prospect: for top teams this is a complementary player.

“I think he is destined for a very important career because today, he is only at 70-80% of his technical and physical qualities, but he has an extraordinary intelligence and will soon fill this gap.”

Corsi was also asked about the prospect of Maurzio Sarri taking over the coaching role at Juventus this summer.

“This excites me. It gave us great satisfaction (to have him at Empoli). A particular character, he seems a bit abrupt, but he is a very pleasant person and a very high level technician.

“I believe Juve has reached an important turning point and I hope he can give them what he has given to Naples.”
