Angel Di Maria will be celebrating after Sunday’s game with Spezia after he helped Juventus secure the win. The 35-year-old is now receiving praise from the Italian papers for his action on the field.
Football-Italia curated some of the comments from the media including praise such as “indispensable” “it only took him 10 minutes to aim and beat Marchetti.” and “only with him do Juventus flourish.”
Di Maria deserves the praise after his performance against Spezia and it has to be noted that he has come back from the World Cup a much more motivated player.
The Argentine playmaker did not have the best start to his Juventus career and there were calls for him to be cast adrift at the end of this season, however, that is no longer the case with many Juve fans now keen to see him extend his time in Turin.
Whether that happens is open to question but for now, the main thing is that he remains consistent and helps the club progress in the Europa League, continue to win in Serie A and hopefully lift the Coppa Italia.
There is still much to play for this season and an in-form Di Maria can only benefit us.
