Juventus collapsed to an uncharacteristic defeat, their first of the season, against a lacklustre United side who created little until the final 10 minutes.

Juventus Player Ratings

Wojciech Szczęsny: A shocking night for the keeper. He flapped on more than one occasion and should have done better on the United equaliser. Utterly lost at sea on the United winner, a night to forget and quickly move on from. 4.0/10

Leonardo Bonucci: Solid for 80 minutes while playing a sublime cross for Ronaldo’s late golazo. Played his part in the confusion that led to United’s winner, getting the last touch on the ball, but that shouldn’t take away from an otherwise good display for the defender. 5.5/10

Giorgio Chiellini: Bizzarely beaten by Fellaini for the late winner but everything prior to that was nearly foot perfect from the captain. 5.5/10

Mattia De Sciglio: Surprisingly, he was one of the better players in the defensive end of the pitch. Kept Martial limited to just a handful of half chances despite not being quite as dynamic in the attacking end. 6.0/10

Alex Sandro: Lost at sea for United’s winner and his delivery in the final third was very poor. Started brightly but faded as the game continued. 5.0/10

Midfield

Rodrigo Bentancur: A very promising display from the youngster who looked an obvious threat right from the start. The best of Juve’s midfielders with intelligent runs, some great passing and an attack minded approach to proceedings.. 6.5/10

Miralem Pjanic: A strong night for the midfielder with excellent distribution and a fine defensive contribution as well. Had a chance to score that he maybe should have done better with but he was one of the most consistent on the pitch. 6.0/10

Sami Khedira: A wasted chance to open the scoring early where he had time to place the ball – Slow and laboured on the ball, in the build up and generally throughout the game. A very poor showing from the German. 4.0/10

Attack

Juan Cuadrado: While he wasn’t too bad when attacking, he offered little when Juve needed to defend and his miss in the 75th minute was unforgivable. Another game where he failed to offer anything decisive in an attacking sense.  5.5/10

Cristiano Ronaldo: Exceptional. Utterly exceptional. Spent the entire night pushing and probing the United back line before scoring a wonder goal to put Juve ahead. 7.5/10

Paulo Dybala: Far better in his linkup with Ronaldo and a real threat when given the ball. Wasted a few half-chances before hitting the post with what would have been one of his finest goals in a Juve shirt. 6.0/10

Substitutes

Blaise Matuidi: Bought some much needed pace to the Juve midfield but was caught out and caused the free kick that led to the equaliser. 5.5/10

Andrea Barzagli: Came on late in the game to try and keep United out but it wasn’t to be. N/A

Mario Mandzukic: Barely had time to make any kind of impact. N/A
