Juventus are close to a completing a move for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The German international has been the subject of sustained interest from Juventus who tried to sign the midfield in July, only for Liverpool to reject the offer.

Reports from RAI Sport now suggest that a deal is close and ‘practically agreed’, despite strong interest from Manchester City and Inter Milan.

According to the report, Juve director Beppe Marotta has Emre Can ‘in hand’ and the 24-year-old is ready to sign a contract with Juve in February.

It’s reported the Bianconeri will offer Can €4m per year plus bonuses and confirmation of the deal is expected soon.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Alessandro Del Piero suggested that Can could be exactly what Juventus need to revitalise their midfield:

“Emre Can of Liverpool would be ideal, and he’s not even that expensive. He could be the big name for Juve in January. They need somebody like him. He’s physically present and somebody like Emre Can would fit in very well with [Miralem] Pjanic and Khedira.”

Despite reports of a possible January move, reports from England suggest that Can will remain in Merseyside until at least June before leaving as a free agent.
