Juventus have beaten off competition from Leicester City to land Sampdoria youngster Pedro Pereira.
The 17-year-old right back joined the Blucerchiati having begun his career at Benfica’s youth ranks and has gone on to make a promising start in Serie A.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are close to agreeing a deal for Pereira which could see him arrive in Januaury.
With Stephan Lichtsteiner coming toward the end of his Bianconeri career, Pereira would make a useful long-term addition in line with Juve’s focus on youth players.
Premier League side Leicester City were also reportedly interested in the defender but it looks like Juve are in the lead to land the youngster.
I think we should withhold from making any signings in this transfer window. It will be great to see El Shaarawy in our shirt. It is dissappointing to see such a talented player not get consistent football.
Our current players provide just enough to challenge for the title on all competitions.
