Juventus could make a surprise January bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan.

The German midfielder has a contract with Die Borussen until June 2017 but it’s been reported that he is unwilling to sign an extension.

Manchester United, Liverpool and a host of other clubs and hoping to sign the 25-year-old at the end of the current season, however Italian daily Tuttosport report that Juve may try a different strategy by making a January offer.

The Italian paper suggest that the Bianconeri may make a bid in the region of €25m, despite Gundogan being unable to play for Juve in the Champions League.

*Side note – This move is highly unlikely to happen because:

a) When has Beppe Marotta ever wanted to spend that amount of money in January?

b) Juve have a relatively strong midfield as it stands

c) Why sign a play that’s already cup tied?

…..but hey, it’s all ‘news’ 😉
