Juventus will go head-to-head with Napoli for a number of transfer targets this summer, beginning with Sassuolo’s Sime Vrsaljko.
This morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the two clubs are both in the running to sign the Croatian full-back who looks set to depart the Neroverdi.
Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also reported to have taken an interest in the player, however Sassulo are asking at least €20m for Vrsaljko.
In addition, both clubs are vying for last seasons Serie B Capocannoniere, Pescara striker Gianluca Lapadula, with Genoa and Lazio also in the running.
Finally, both clubs could turn their attention to Merseyside where both Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Liverpool’s Christian Benteke are of interest, but no official offers have been made yet.
I can;’t see us getting Sime – The price tag, buying Berardi from them, Barca interest all makes me think that he’ll either get poached by Napoli nice and early or go to Spain.
Lapadula has said nice things about Juve and he knows the club all too well, but again, i think perhaps the future of Simone Zaza would dictate whether or not we invest in him?? Would he be any more content to sit on the bench or would we use him as a bargaining chip in a transfer ?
Finally, Benteke ? No thanks. Lukaku ? His father said he won;t come to ITaly so i don;t know what GdS are talking about – plus the salary and tranfer fee would be very high…..sounds like a very implausible deal
At this point it looks much likelier that we will get MdS. I wouldn’t want Lapadula here just to sit on the bench, I’d rather it be Ganz for that role if Zaza is not satisfied with his position, or doesn’t want to try and improve it. Benteke is average, Lukaku is good but far too expensive. Let’s see what happens.
I have no interest in seeing that Lapadula guy at Juve. Seems like a silly signing. Why not give some of our own youngsters the chance for that 4th striking position if need be?
Vrsaljko is too expensive. For that price you can probably do alot better. And by that I’m not talking about De Sciglio – he should stay away too. Mediocracy is not what’s needed. Darmian or Danilo would be useful though!
