Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirms that the future of Alvaro Morata will be clarified within the next two weeks.
Speaking with Tuttosport, Marotta responded to the mounting speculation regarding the Spanish striker’s future.
“Morata? We’ll clarify the situation in 10 days to 2 weeks.” Marotta told the Turin based daily.
“Alvaro’s willingness is very important, he has always said that he’s very well in Turin and he wants to stay in Vinovo. Once we speak to Real, we’ll consequently act on the market.
“We are monitoring several tracks (players), and let it be clear: we are looking for players worthy of Juve.
“If the transfer market will allow us and there’s important options, we will try to strengthen the midfield. But at the same time, we are working very closely on young players (Italians & foreigners).”
Marotta turned his attention to Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi who is believed to be on his way to Juventus and was rumoured to be used as part of a deal for Roma’s Miralem Pjanic.
“Berardi is a great player, we’ll evaluate what’s best for us and the boy. If we sign him he’ll stay with us.”
Marotta went on to reveal that Juve may have missed out on Paulo Dybala last summer.
“At one point we were going to lose him [Dybala], then we acted immediately and sealed the deal.
“When you are sure about a player you cannot afford to lose him, even if you have to pay a little bit more.
“In the end, the money is just an investment and the fact that Dybala has doubled his value in 12 months is proof.”
Finally, Marotta talked about the future of the club and the important of having a youth team.
“Keeping our young players close, making them develop alongside our champions is important, especially with the opportunity to play with continuity. It’s very important for our young talents, who often get lost.”

A little clarity from Beppe…..but all the indicators are that Morata will leave. Various Spanish papers have reported that he will return to Madrid and then be sold on.
The will of the player is the most important factor – for him to touch the badge after scoring then become decidely vague about his future when asked post-game seems……odd – I’m not certain he’ll leave, but it sounds ever more likely.
The nature of this kind of deal with Madrid should be a lesson – i don’t think it’s beneficial for us in any way, shape or form – to nurture a player, bring him in to the fold and become part of what we are trying to build….only to have the threat of his possible departure hanging over our head for 2 years. Granted, that can happen with any player, but here, it’s explicitly expressed in the deal we signed.
We’ll wait and see. I suspect Berardi might be our big signing this summer, the rest will be local reinforcements, which i am more than happy with. Gomes and the like seem to be a bridge to far for us, especially when the circus that is the PL can outbid at every turn – Players that come to Juve are the ones that want to play for us – money isn’t their motivation.
We’ve gone from a team that was brining in makeshift replacements and rejects to plug holes in the squad, to having a squad that is now the envy of many. Pogba for free is worth at least 80m – Dybala’s value has doubled – Sandro;s too – Bonucci is wanted at Chelsea and man city…..and yet all these players wanted to play for Juve. THESE are the players i want – the ones who honour our shirt. Anyone that doesn’t respect or understand what the colours mean are not wanted. Rant over.
We should never have accepted a deal with a buyback option and never do so again. Juve is too big for this kind of deals.
Beppe has said it was the only way to get him though. So it was a case of no choice. We could have gone after someone else, but maybe they thought with a higher buyback than we paid for him it was a risk worth taking. In reality it’s a no lose situation for Juve. Money back plus interest. The wages would have been paid to any other player we purchased instead of Alvaro. I can see that point however sad it is if he leaves.
True words.. But yeah, we should try to avoid it anyway. Its actually slightly revolting from Real to insist on such clauses.
Agree with everything you said, although I feel like if Morata does have to leave we can get Isco in return. Let’s see how much Beppe offers Real to keep Morata, probably no more than 25M, and then we will truly see what the will of the player is.
1) Pjanic
2) Berardi
3) a right back / centerback to replace Cáceres (Maybe Benatia on loan and a RB as well).
4) another DECENT striker if Morata/Zaza leaves. (Preferrably it would be Mandzukic leaving)
That would be a succesful transfer window!
Oh, and Isco if we win the lottery.
Honestly I don’t want Morata to leave he has all the tools necessary to be as good as dydbala. I read somewhere that the reason his season was so poor was because of girl problem, now he has a new chick he can start performing. ( On his bad days I feel he is better than Mario, faster an more skill) if he have to leave the juventus should used him in a deal to get James or isco#forza juv
