Put them to bed early Early

Goals from Miralem Pjanic and Mario Mandzukic managed to put the game to bed fairly early. Juve are often criticized for their inability to finish off sides after going 1-0 up but perhaps most pleasing from today’s performance was the consistency of play in the first half. No dip, no change of tactics, no sense of victory. Allegri’s men continued on the with the job and found the second only a matter of minutes after Pjanic’s superb freekick. Bologna went into the dressing rooms at half time having to overcome a 2 goal deficit against a side with 5 clean sheets on the trot, a near impossible task.

Make that six

This afternoons 3-0 victory in Bologna marks our 6th straight clean sheet across all competitions. Our defence looks to have it’s mojo back with the form of Medhi Benatia and Mattia De Sciglio being major contributors to recent success. The pairing are beginning to surpass all expectation and are now automatic entries into the starting eleven. The lockdown defence of De Sciglio and intercept qualities of Benatia have the team looking like their old self after an exceptional last month.

No Dybala No Worries

‘La Joya’ was missing from the starting eleven for the second Serie A matchday in a row. Allegri has freshened things up as of late, opting for an extra man in central midfield and ditching the role behind the striker earmarked for Dybala in both games against Inter and Bologna. The gamble paid off today with Douglas Costa carrying much of the workload going forward and running rings around Bologna defender Adam Masina, who was absolutely no match for the mazy Brazilian.
