Juventus are scheduled to meet with Bayern Munich to resolve the futures of Medhi Benatia and Kingsley Coman.
Coman’s €7m, two-year loan deal is coming to a close and Bayern have to decide whether or not to make the deal permanent by paying a further €21m for the young French winger. Meanwhile, Benatia has spent a season on loan at the Bianconeri with Juve having paid €3m for his services, with an option for a full transfer costing a further €17m – The deadlines for either club to exercise their option expires at the end of this month, leading to speculation over what will happen next.
The are some reports in Italian press that talks with Coman over a contract which would keep him in Germany have stalled which could lead to a return to Turin for the 20-year-old. If this were to happen, there are believed to be plenty of other suitors for the player which could allow Juve to use him as a bargaining chip in any future deal.
Benatia’s situation is reportedly more clear-cut as he’s retired from the Moroccan national side with a view to focussing on his club clear, leading to reports that he will be redeemed by the club.
Kingsley has endured a tough, poor season under Ancelotti, which contrasts sharply with the previous campaign under Guardiola.
He appeared to have made just 9 starts for Munich, with 2 goals to his name, whereas in the 15/16 season he managed 24 starts…This suggests that Ancelotti does not rate him particularly highly or that Ribery, Muller and Robben have been fit and in fine form.
However, Rummenigge stated as recently as March I believe that they would likely be taking up the option. A shame in a way, for he clearly has talent, though I will be content with the profit if the move becomes concrete. Given we signed him for barely a handful of gold…
A quick research of articles says that he left because the system 3-5-2 didn’t suit him.
With Allegri’s new system do you guys think he would be accepted back? fit in? shine?
Yah, we didn’t use wingers back then, but in 4-2-3-1 we use wingers, and definitely better suited him who can play on both wings, but his defensive discipline needs to improve a lot, I guess Mister prefers more Douglas Costa – Asencio type of wingers, with higher work rates.
Apart from that his attitude is not very convincing for me! But we can sell him for higher price to some PL teams!
Not in the slightest. he has zero defensive zeal, has very little physically, and offers mainly, burst of pace with flair. I do not think he offers any value to the 4-2-3-1.
This is the same reason as to why I see Pjaca more as a Dybala back-up…
