Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah could be on the verge of joining Galatasaray.
The 28-year-old has been a fringe player for much of the last two seasons having sustained a recurring knee injury that kept him on the side-lines and reduced his role to a substitute.
Reports from the ever reliable VecchiaSignora website suggest that personal terms have already been agreed between club and player, leaving only a few details to be finalised.

Update
Sky Sport Italia report that there is an agreement between Asamoah and Galatasaray, however Juventus are reluctant to sell the player. The Bianconeri are expected to meet with the players representatives to clarify the situation later today.
It’s a good sell on our end, recoup some of the investment while he is at peak age wise. Asamoah never materialized for us, had some good games but never really stood out. I think we never got the best out of him, he was good both offensively and defensively but not great so he never solidified a spot. After 5 years I’m all for parting ways and heading in to a new direction.
in his first season under Conte he was simply fantastic, well , i mean first 6 months, then he went on that stupid african cup and he was like total shit after that.im ok with his sale but- 1. we need new LB in such a case and 2. fuck these turkish scum. do you remember Melo? how much did we sale him for? a piece of bread? these turkish wankers dont pay, so fuck them. You want Asa? ok cash or fuck off
I’m of a different view, mate…
I am unsure what you mean by suggesting he failed to nail down a spot? he was a our starting LWB for two scudetto winning campaigns!
He came in as a natural CM and I felt was exceptionally professional and valuable when converting to a LWB. He was in the starting XI for two seasons during which we were very successful domestically. Yes, injuries then struck in his third season and fourth season, yet we had Sandro come in which was superb business by the club. Last campaign I thought he was rusty, as was Marchisio, after so long without regular football, yet far from clearly finished. A superb professional with great attitude. At 28, and with a proper injury free pre-season he could be as good as he was before his injury woes.
I am not quite taken with the spinazzola hunt. He looked decent enough last season for a lively Atalanta, and he is one of our own (to some degree) yet I have always seen him play quite high up the field, not deep as a LB. And I cannot imagine we are going to play with wingbacks as well as wide forwards…He is nowhere near as defensively capable as Asamoah. Nor as physical. And I cannot see him challenging Mandzukic, Costa, Pjaca for the LW spot.
Essentially for me, swapping a LB for a defensively weaker LB makes no sense…
Bad decision. A good honest all-rounder who can fill defensive and midfield spots in a injury crisis.
Some forget easily, or never really take much in of what they are seeing. Another symptom of the younger crowd, DB.
Asa was an absolutely integral part of our return to greatness under Conte, assisting hugely in the 11/12. 12/13, 13/14 campaigns…Injury struck, quite fiercely and then we signed Sandro.
I thought like Marchisio he would need a season to get back into sharpness, after so long out. Its not just the injury type its the lengthy absence of competitive action in the head and bones. He looked fine, but rusty and at his age I had been comfortable that with an injury free pre-season we would have a very solid, reliable option to back up Sandro and also potentially get back involved in midfield. This is what I assume Max had in mind also, simply because it makes sense.
Adding in new players en-masse like its a game of FIFA or PES is not the way to build that all important cohesion and team spirit.
Some of the words flying around on social media about Lichsteiner are appalling and indicative of people who really do not support the club, do not watch the game or do not understand the game…we treated Stephan poorly last summer after all he had given to the club. And rather than moan, agitate for a move, make a fuss, he was the model professional. Training hard, keeping quiet, and when Alves was broken, we turned to him, and he delivered…he fking delivered and was part of the team which turned the fortunes around changed formation and moved up the gears. He was not as sharp as if he had been playing all season, and he is aging and I understand if he fancies moving for regular football, but he was by no measures a constant liability losing us game after game, and this makes me angry to find people asserting…its like feeling enemies in my own house.
Now the thing about both Lichsteiner and Asamoah is it is not just two highly experienced players leaving, its two players who have played a massive part in our stunning series of conquests, they have Juve experience, are part of the club’s DNA. We lose too much of that in one Summer and we will falter, drop to a dog fight with Roma and Napoli and it wouldnt surprise me to see Napoli win the title this year, for they have a stronger sense of cohesion and togetherness.
People marvel at our upgrading which is fine, but we have yet to address the most obvious problem, namely CM, and we have yet to address either by promotion from within or purchasing the departure of by far our strongest defender of the last half decade. Allegri could come out and say that Rugani is ready, or Benatia is ready, offer them some confidence, but still rumours of Garay and De Vrij. What message does this give to Rugani? And why the hell did we sign Benatia if we did not feel he was past his injury worries?
More bother than joy with Jive presently, my friend, and I must stop peeking on twitter…I have had my fill of Russia, its superb and engaging when with the natives who I have sought out on several occasions to get an insiders view of the life here, its lonely when without, as I do not wish to be on a tour group or in a hostel, taking the same snaps, hearing the same script as hundreds of others…So I am in this halfway realm where I can speak a little local tongue now, but often feel like I am looking at the real life here through a telescope…
Gills started with a away clean sheet! 0-0 with promoted Doncaster. And what of Forest?
Yes sad the short memories of many. Even here the posts about flogging off SL to be replaced by a trendy one season wonder were annoying to say the least. So many names bandied about, and how many are real quality, or upgrades? Very few. It’s the Youtube generation of watching highlights I think. Every bloody player has some great and good moments, and splice them together with a trance soundtrack and hey presto! Instant greatness…. But what of their character or loyalty – where does a 5 minute footballers pop video show that? Lichtensteiner has that in spades, and yes we sell it off at our peril GP.
Midfield is still not resolved, and I may keep my mouth shut until the transfer window shuts, but I see a faltering team that is worse as a balance overall now than last year with no top class DM still and now no Leo. We may get title #7, but UCL still no cigar I am afraid. We will be picked off again sometime along the path due to weakness in the middle of the park, even if offensive firepower is greater. I hope Bentacur is good if he is getting to stay in squad.
Most thoughts in England is that Chelsea have just handed Man U the title with Matic transfer, and that Conte is really pissed about it. I agree on the former, he will be a big part of Utd success this year. Why did we let him slip away…. So frustrating.
Where next on your trip? Motherland? It’s cold and peeing down with rain here chap….
At end of day on first Friday night of season the Tricky Trees were top if the table. We always win the opener, it’s just the other 20+ matches we struggle with 🙂
I am glad to find solidarity in my cynicism, my friend…
And given I have been singing the boy’s praises for many moons, I will continue, to stake my reputation (as a drunkard, yet prolific divulger of Juve passion and verbose proclamations) on young Rodrigo. He has shown rare and special class on the ball. His ability to change gear when in possession is very promising indeed and his experience with Boca seniors has hardened him to some degree.
Its useful to note that he was first deployed as the DM we need and hope for…but Cubas came through (another one we had an option on who ended up on loan at Pescara – not sure if that was another ‘synergy’ moves, regardless it went foul so he headed back to Boca). Bentancur was then moved to a more Pogba-esque role LCM role, where he could win the ball and move gazelle like swiftly up the field with the ball at his feet and produce fluid, high level distribution. He seemed wasted in the DM role. Too good on the ball to leave deep.
Whilst Sami can carry the ball, he uses brute strength more than guile and speed. Pjanic is no dribbler, he is creative and fancy and cunning. We do not have a player who is very comfortable carrying the ball through the middle of the park. We haven’t had since Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba. The latter two especially loved to keep the ball, often Pirlo did so in amusingly dangerous positions.
Still, as well as a natural DM, we also lack this ball carrying, shuttling midfielder. Marchisio is probably the closest we have presently, and he was not match sharp last season, before which was more of a shoe horned regista, before which in that LCM role.
Essentially, if deployed correctly, if we were to field a diamond which a 4-3-1-2 often looks like in the middle, Bentancur could be one of our finest investments for many years
Agree on Matic…Conte is no tactical genius but he surely did not want to gift their strongest CM, part of the engine of last year’s success to Man U. The only way it makes sense to me is that ABramovich is actually a decent guy. If someones wants to leave, they can leave, as long as the price is okay. With Bakayoko coming in, and Jose in his ear, Matic probably thought why not, new contract, new challenge, new city and reunite with Mourinho. Chelsea are definitely weakened. I do not make the assumption many others seem prone to, in that players who excel in france will automatically excel in england…
Great start for your tricky trees! Long may it continue…
I am in Tallinn presently, Estonia, nursing a wretched hangover which refuses to budge…I had been off the spirits for a week or two, just enjoying a few beers with my evening meal, and yet last night I collided with my former housemate in Melbourne, the beautiful, far hardier than myself, Siret…and we went on a tour of underground and rugged bars. I came home and then polished off all the beers I had bought for the coming three days…Off to Latvia on Saturday, then Lithuania next week…not sure after then. Will roll the dice, mate.
