Juventus have officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Mattia Perin from Genoa on a four-year contract.

The 25-year old keeper was in Turin earlier today to complete his medical before putting pen to paper on a contract that will tie him to the club until 2022 with Genoa earning €12m plus €3m in bonuses. A statement on the clubs official site confirmed the deal:

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Genoa Cricket & Football Club S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Mattia Perin has been finalized for a consideration of € 12 million payable in 3 financial years.

“The purchase value may increase by a further maximum of € 3 million on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract.

“This acquisition will generate economic and financial effects starting from 2018/2019 sportive season.

“Juventus and the player have signed a 4-year contract of employment until 30 June 2022.”

Speaking after signing his contract, Perin expressed his happiness at completing the move to Juventus:

“I arrive with so much enthusiasm and with the utmost humility, I have a lot to learn, but I hope I can contribute to the cause. I could only say yes, these are trains that pass by once in my life: I could not refuse Juventus.”
