Juventus have begun negotiations with Valencia for Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo but the deal is not yet complete.

The Bianconeri have made no secret of their interest in Cancelo, first trying to sign him last summer shortly before he joined Inter Milan on loan.

Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium report that the full-back was expected to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League but he would prefer to join Juventus.

Reports from Spanish outlet Superdeporte suggested that the deal was close “practically certain” with Juventus and Valencia agreeing terms on a €40m deal.

Despite that news, Goal Italia’s Juventus correspondent Romeo Agresti reports today that Juventus proposed a loan option, similar to the one that took Cancelo to Inter, however this was rejected by Valencia, and talks are ongoing with both sides keen to find a solution.

Juve are also targeting Matteo Darmian, however Manchester United are asking for at least €20m while the Bianconeri aren’t prepared to go higher than €12m plus bonuses.
