If reports are to be believed, it appears that we have pulled out of the race to sign Alisson Becker, the outstanding goalkeeping prospect of Internacional. Our good friends in Rome have apparently pledged 5m for his services and he will appear in their ranks next August. Which seems…interesting. For all evidence points towards his talent as something very special indeed. Yet perhaps there is more to this story of which we are presently in the dark. It could be his desire to be given a potential starting role in a european side, which will have precluded any deal with Juve because Santo Buffon is assuredly not to hang up his golden boots next Summer. Other than which…it will suggest, given the money involved, that we have our eyes elsewhere for Buffon’s successor. Perhaps in Leali, or Audero, or someone else entirely. The positive of this story is that I had no idea of Alisson before a few weeks back.
Still, the rumours of our interest in the South American market do not end there. As whilst the door appears to close on Alisson Becker, several more open…
Rosario Central starlet Giovani Lo Celso.
Lo Celso is an Argentinian attacking midfielder fresh out of the Rosario academy who has quickly shot to fame in the senior side. Early signs of beautiful creativity, impeccable control of the ball and a very welcome gritty streak are most encouraging. Reports suggest that we will have to cough up $9m to sign the 19 year old, then loan him to our good friends at Sassuolo, perhaps as part of the Berardi deal. By ‘loan’ I mean ‘they buy him, with either our money or money we promise with an agreement to integrate him into their squad’.
And then there is…Matheus Pereira.
17 years old, already represented Brazil at youth level. Looks wonderful! And if Alfredo Pedulla the italian transfer shock jock is to be believed, we have already made an offer for his services. As with Lo Celso, if we were to sign him, he will be loaned elsewhere. Or perhaps brought into our primavera, where he can offer some home comfort to Vadala, who has been improving month on month for Grosso’s U19 side and is starting to show true promise.
We have beaten Inter and Atalanta in their pursuit of rising Colombian midfield star, Juan Manuel Valencia. Born in 98′ the midfielder signs for 1.5m from Colombian side Cortuluá.
After which we are also linked with Valencia’s exciting compatriot… Jorge Carrascal.
Moving closer to the Present of our senior side…Interest in Caceres seems to be hotting up, with Liverpool mentioned too often for there to be no fire behind the smoke, yet of more intrigue is the deal broached by the tabloids to swap the Uruguayan for Lazio’s 21 year old creative force, Danilo Cataldi.
Old video, yet it showcases a youngster of guile, confidence and welcome flair. Has represented Italy at all levels up to U21. Encouraging enough to make me keen to learn more of such a deal. I wonder if Lazio might be persuaded into a reunion with their old chum Hernanes?
There is more. So much more…Yet the above provide enough stardust to light our dreams in the darkness for this night.

Any intel on the kids that Juve got in return from Boca for Tevez?
How are they progressing and are they potentially going to be stars?
You can check his article on this site.

Indeed, I mentioned them elsewhere. It seems that Rodrigo Bentancur is the most promising. He has played 19 times for Boca this season and often starts. Franco Cristaldo has also featured regularly for table topping Boca with 7 appearances to date. Finally…Adrian Cubas has found the field on 9 occasions.
Vadala, the Boca lad we have on loan in our primavera, after a few injury niggles has finally begun in recent weeks to show his worth both in terms of creating chances for others and grabbing his first of the campaign. At best we can hope he continues to develop this season and proves valuable enough to…I am unsure to be honest. For I’m quite sure we cannot loan a loaned player to another italian team, such as a serie B side. We have him on a two year loan and he will be 19 in February, too old for next season’s primavera. So what the devil will we then do with the lad in the Summer? Place him in the first team squad, purchase him outright or send him home, seem the only choices available. Which places a lot of weight on the next 5 months. Perhaps the idea will be to purchase him (if he does well and the coaches see enough potential) for the set price of 9.4m, then we will be able to loan him to a senior side.
Wishing all a jolly festive period. Buon Natale.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a big thank you to TGP who has joined our ranks and made an immediate impact. His articles are insightful and unique and i for one am looking forward to the coming year with him on board.
2 weeks to go until the next game….assorted players pictured all around the globe…..i hope they enjoy the brief respite before we go back to Serie A and that CL game against some German side. So much at stake this season…..it’s going to be a memorable one
Many thanks indeed for the sterling mention, my friend. With such encouragement I will certainly continue my often vodka drenched, sporadically unbalanced, yet always passionate contribution to the cause.
My family time over Christmas, laying my head down in a oven which Daniel of the bible would have struggled to bear and a sudden break from my usual dance with smirnoff vixen has left me bedraggled, groggy and too mangled in synapse to produce anything of value, yet once my senses are recovered, I shall embark, with glee, upon an outline of the beginnings of my love affair with Juve…In fact, why not start this very evening.
Wishing everyone here a wonderful yuletide.
