Stefano Sturaro says he is ‘excited’ to be returning to Genoa while the club are also pushing to sign Marko Pjaca from the Bianconeri.

The 25-year-old midfielder was pictured shortly before undergoing his medical with Genoa earlier today and spoke of his happiness at returning the club that gave him his Serie A debut.

“I’m happy to be here for medical visits,” Sturaro told Sky Sports.

“There are still some steps to go, but let’s say we’re close. I’ll be back after four fantastic years at Juve.

“All the fans know what Genoa mean to me. I’m happy and excited. I can’t wait to get started.”

Reports from Sky Sport Italia and beyond suggest that Juve and I Grifone are continuing work on a number of deals involving possible moves for Cristian Romero and Marko Pjaca.

The Croatian winger has been on loan in Florence for the first half of the season and is reportedly keen to see out the remainder of his deal while Genoa are pushing to sign him on loan themselves.

The suggestion is that Genoa are keen to offer him more playing time and make him an integral part of their plans for the remainder of the season.
