Juventus offloaded Weston McKennie in the last transfer window on an initial loan deal to Leeds United in the Premier League.
The American was Max Allegri’s preferred choice on the right side of midfield in the weeks before he left, but it was clear Juve would offload him for the right offer.
After reports linked him with a move to the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa, he eventually decided to move to Leeds, where he would be reunited with some of his fellow compatriots.
A report on Tuttojuve has now revealed what made McKennie ask the Bianconeri to sell him.
It claimed when the Bianconeri lost 15 points as a punishment from FIGC, McKennie believed that was the right time to leave and asked the club to listen to offers for his signature.

In a time like this, we only need players who are prepared to work hard and help us get away from our present troubles. McKennie does not seem loyal enough to do that and we cannot blame him.
He has never been one of the fan favourites and if his move to the Premier League is made permanent, we will make some good money.
Lol, Mckennie was under appreciated here from the start. Find a new scapegoat because all the top players will leave if we are not playing European football. So now I assume Pogba, Jean or Curdardo will be the scapegoat instead of the real under performing players like Locatelli and Vlahovic

Omar…. So who do you rate? Go compare Mckennie stats to our other midfielders and come back with that same energy with your reply. He has done far more than the midfielders we decided to keep and is on Par with Rabbiot in terms of production. Get out of fantasy land and actually watch what the players do and not follow casual public opinions like a sheep.
His passing statistics are garbage. He completes under 80% of his passes. I watch all our games btw, unless I fall asleep from boredom inside the first 30 minutes. Rabiot? He’s only playing for a new contract – a passenger of the highest order for 36 months, until he decided to wake up and play ball for 3-4 months. He’s now back to his usual nonchalant levels. McNuggets has good off the ball movement and that’s about it. His passing is atrocious, his tackling is trash, and he isn’t a good footballer. I don’t need statistics to tell me what my eyes can clearly see. You want to know who our best midfielder is? Fagioli.
Mckennie did not ask to leave – Juventus wanted him to leave. He is simply not up to Juventus standards. Runs around like a headless chook and has the touch of an elephant. If Juventus is to rise to previous levels, it can’t continue to bring in players like him and play him ahead of the likes of Fagioli, Miretti, Soule and Rovella (when he returns from loan).
Wow, you basically didn’t watch any match or are poor in judgement. McKennie was strong in all aspects, fast, good ball control, good heading ability and never slowed down the game like Di Maria. He just made an assist before he was thrown out.
Only negative was consistency from time to time, but better than most our CMF.

Good ball control? Ignorance is bless. The standards are so low now that McNuggets is actually considered a “quality” midfielder. SMH.
